The 4th round should be VERY interesting...  There are ONLY 27 players on the list (24 team league, remember?) & 8-12 of them - I would not want for this kind of league - really (?) - Womack, Mulholland, Jordan & Sierra - why would anyone want them?  At least one of those guys will HAVE to be selected & THAT is why I wanted the 5th pick in the 4th round, ha HA!  That is why I wanted additional players (too late now) "NO-brainers" to be added to that round, like TOliva, DAllen, MWills, TAgee, SGarvey, TJohn, CCooper - until the Vet Committee wakes up & smells what is going on, these guys are screwed!  But at least they are in a better place than Shoeless Joe. Charlie Hustle, Lefty Williams & Eddie Ciccotte - who are DEAD to the world!  Famous Quote from a sports writer who died a few months ago...  "Take away all of Roses records (give them back to TCobb or whoever) put an asterisks (*) by them or - SIMPLE - put him in  the HOF, give him his benefits & exclude him from everything else..."

That is exactly why I wanted a high pick in the 4th round too.

I'm happy with a cheap Protest player sitting on my bench. I could make a whole team full of Rickey's teammates alone granted that is not the task.
The other benefit of having a late third round pick is that if you take a player with many HOF teammates you pretty much know those teammates will or won't be available in the end.

Rickey WAS a good pick!  Too bad you can ONLY use 7 of his teammates?

not to beat a dead horse, but i thought it was way clear that we don't get to use teammates of the forth pick.  It would of changed my strategy of where i was picking. If you are a wise guy, you now understand the value of Terry Mulholland.  I'm pretty sure Ace does.

question in the forum was pretty straight forward - "do we get to use teammates of just the HOF or can we use the teamamtes of the forth round players?"

Answer " just the HOFers"

First off - we take 7 teammates from each of our 3 HOF'ers - that gives us 24 players.  The last pick is a single player that becomes our 25th.  That's why I've always thought having a high pick in round 4 was far less advantageous than having an early 1 and 3.

We only take teammates of our 3 HOFers. I don't beleive I have ever said otherwise, however, if I have, I do apologize. 7 teammates each of 3 HOFers means 21 players, 3 HOFers adds up to 24, and the final player on the team is your Protest Vote.

OK so if McGwire gets taken in the 4th round even though he is not in the HOF despite having played with Eck I can not take him. I am now clear on the issue. Thanks. Ace
