When I suggested the highest salary pick first concept, honestly I was thinking 1920-onward (like we did last round). I think the onslaught of deadball high salary pitchers makes the nomination of position players less appealing due to the salary discrepancy between pitchers and hitters. I'd like to see us try the high-salary pick theme run without deadballers sometime soon.

Slainte - it will still be a fun challenge.  Of course it (highest to lowest draft position) has turned my world upside down.      I have nominated a pitcher in group 1 and a hitter in group 2 - we will see how it goes.  I am just glad that guys like Silver King and John Clarkson didn't qualify for they didn't have enough seasons.

We're going to see way more change in the draft order from round to round than we've ever seen before.  With the need to draft the cheap seasons of players we don't want to have to use, that will make it tough for one person to stay at or near the top of the draft each round. 

I realize that the Frank Dwyer pick was evil, but I will be punished in a different way, by having to pick near the bottom in the first few critical rounds.  I almost went with different pitcher and rostered a very expensive season where I would've picked first or near first...

Damn...I totally missed the reversal in draft order. Hopefully my selection of a "screw you" type player doesn't backfire on me in Group 2.

You can always change your mind and nominate a different player. 

I'll take a look later, but I'll probably keep Fraser. It will still force people to spend millions on useless seasons. Just hope I don't end up screwing myself through draft position.

If the last spot is still available, I will join Group 1, with Frank Thomas (The Big Hurt-Hall of Famer)(not the other Frank Thomas who played for the Pirates).  If I calculate correctly by these rules, he has 15 available seasons.

The Big Hurt has 20 seasons but only 15 where he qualifies at a position (1B); the other 5 seasons are DH only. I'm fine with only using his 1B seasons if schwarze concurs.

I think that defeats the purpose of the league, as it opens up a new pool of players the rest of us weren't able to consider. Just my two cents.
