This madness has to stop! Topic

Last year I lost a 4 star player with 42% against 36% & 21%

I lost another player Last Year to Sim AI when I had 76%

This year, I lost 62% on a 2 star player who prefered 'Far From his Tacoma,WA Home', but chose Washington with 38%.

I see your logic but I agree its speculation. I don't think we have any clue on the bonus you get for a wants to play with minutes beyond 15. Is it totally linear? I'm not sure.

10 gets you Good.
15 gets you Very Good
20 gets you very Very Good
25 gets you Very Very Very good

maybe. but the difference between 10 and 15 could be more than 20 to 25. We have no idea.
Just saw treyomo's post in the other thread, it makes more sense that playing time was not a preference for this player. I was having trouble imagining that SJU was so far down, if he was getting the AP credit I would expect from a big advantage in that preference. Promises also stand as factors apart from preferences, and in that light, I suspect those promised minutes account for a big chunk of SJU's effort to cling to signing range. They just didn't affect APs.

As it pertains to the playing time preference, I suspect the difference between 10 and 15 is indeed more than the difference between 20 and 25. The per cent increase from 10 to 15 is 50%. The per cent increase from 20 to 25 is only 25%. Of course it's speculation, because they haven't disclosed this particular calculation, with good reason.

Most important point in the thread: “I think a lot of people assume the considering tab is an indication of how the recruit views the school. That is the wrong way to look at it. The considering tab is meant to give us an idea of how much effort credit we have relative to the effort credit leader.”

Exactly. The considering tab doesn’t have the kid in it at all, just your effort and the coaches' efforts. The kid only comes in at the very end.
the considering tab takes into account the effects of the kids preferences and not just effort.
Yes, the considering tab reflects your efforts relative to other coaches' efforts as modified by the kid's preferences. So if you want to say something of the kid is reflected in the considering tab, be my guest.

exactly - my point was only that your statement that the considering tab reflects "just your effort and the coaches' efforts" was wrong - newbies need accurate information

thanks for agreeing.
