Why I like 3.0 better. Topic

I am a little late but to me the new system is heads above the old system. The old system was all about money, distance, and prestige. If you had a B prestige and the coach local to you had a A+ prestige and he wanted the recruit, he was almost surely was going to get the recruit. The old game was a pecking order in prestige and the lower teams were almost always at a talent disadvantage, and in this game talent is the largest factor in winning.

Under the new system with a B prestige you can find recruits locally that has preferences to help off set the prestige disadvantage giving you a chance to compete, and as long as you can get too a high you still have a shot at a 4 star or better recruit even if a A+ joins in the battle.

As for the rest of 3.0, there are several refinements needed at DI. Too bad seble's beta is apparently going to be all we get. Then again, I think I'm one of the few people who liked 2.0 better who's still around playing out the credit string.
It's certainly been tougher on those who used to dominate. I don't meant that in any sort of negative way. The advantages to those who had achieved tremendous success has certainly been mitigated.
Not true Only wins more easily now, so is ab90, people get a good d2, d3 location like florida and can't be stopped because of the way recruiting works. The less team around, the easier.
I was referring to d1
Ok so we agree something needs to be done in d2,d3. We already know Florida owns, team near Florida like Georgia do too. Cal is so easy... I am still dropping the team but my recruiting, I would never be able to do in Carolina, Indiana or New Mexico

Yeah I know you think that would happen. I'm not as worried about it

D3 populations are around 60-80 teams right now (and decreasing every season). So

1) A year ago we had nearly double that number of teams and I don't remember people complaining that noobs were getting beat down in recruiting battles or that was deterring them from playing the game. The player pool size is plenty big enough.

2) What noobs? I'm looking at Iba D3 right now and there are currently TWO people on their first season and TWO more on their 2nd season. The noob is a dying breed.
In that case, why bother allowing n00bs to play? Close it down and let it play out til it's just me and you in D3.

Which, for the slow, is sarcasm. The game needs new players. Watching the vets in D3 snatch up all the top D3 players in a capped world makes the game a whole lot of fun for the guy who joins, gets a terrible team he didn't put together, finishes 7-20 and then gets destroyed in close quarter recruiting.
"The game needs new players."

Couldn't agree more. But clearly the new system is not doing a good job of retaining those new players. So your concern over noobs getting beat by vets in recruiting battles is moot.
My concern is if they actually start getting new players. Don't stack the deck before they join. Well, any more than it's already stacked.
If ifs and buts were candy and nuts then we'd all have a merry christmas
Assuming that you'll never increase your customer base, and planning that way, is a poor business model.

You probably should have specified that in the title. DII and DIII are far worse imo. DII is manageable, but DIII has become miserable. DIII should not be as bad as it is right now, because that is supposed to be the introduction to new players and convince them to stick around. What's more frustrating is how low the numbers have gotten in those divisions. We are fast approaching a day where if every user makes the NT, there will still be room for sims.

I still like d 2 and d3. I just think the d1 game has improved a ton.

Everyone has their opinion.
Many of the ones that disagree with you cant post because they have all already quit the game.
7/14/2017 8:28 AM
Yeah, losing 25-30% of the players certainly hurts the game.

The whole goal of the update was to increase new user retention rate. I wonder if this has happened.
7/14/2017 8:48 AM
SSS but 9 of us from HBD have stayed after our free credit. I believe all have multiple teams now.

I still believe most of those who quit had 5-10 teams. It takes awhile to get a n00b to want 5-10 teams.

I have no problem playing in D3. Still a good fun game. What's the problem, that there are Superteams? Or that scouting is tougher due to money problems?

Maybe propose that D3 recruits get unlocked to Level 4 immediately if you unlock their state... basically 2.0 scouting on D3 recruits only. This would allow new owners to get a wider look at the player possibilities.

Also, with the D3 numbers going down, it might be a result of a much better D-1 game. Owners have less reluctance to playing D-1 because recruiting has improved so much.

I am sure that is one of the factors. In 2.0 my favorite division was D2. It wasn't like I had a strong connection to a school I have never heard of, its because I liked the game better. In 3.0, I am finding myself adding D1 teams because: the game is now better and there is more competition.

The numbers say it has not.
7/14/2017 11:18 AM
How did you derive your numbers?
7/14/2017 11:23 AM
In 2.0 I always had the feeling that some people knew something I didn't know (how to recruit the best players), I don't get that feeling with 3.0.

Since this is becoming a complaint thread, downtime is the greatest need. Lost Round 1 in CT in Rupp. I need to check back in on 7/26. Yay.
Couldn't agree more with this. Ridiculous gap.
