quick hits on the duos drafted thus far. Spoiler alert: I have no negative opinions.
13. 24kpyrite - Charles Barkley, Jason Kidd - Nice early board superiority without drafting the big rebounding positions! Nice inside/out. Lots of boxes checked.
14. ashamael - James Harden, Ben Wallace - I believe I checked a lot of boxes & set myself up to grab the best available player for the next several rounds.
15. 20ks - Kevin Garnett, Steve Nash - It's no secret that I don't like Garnett in a normal league, but for this league, he has absurdly good value. He gives you a bunch of everything you want over five seasons and is probably a top 10 in the sim in that regard. Nash gives you the monster efg% that KG doesn't.
16. jcred5 - Larry Bird, Gary Payton - I think you succeeded in grabbing great value in each pick and set yourself up for almost optimal flexibility going forward.
17. mikee1 - Anthony Davis, Klay Thompson - as I said earlier, AD is almost a top 10 per minute guy over five seasons, giving you all kinds of goodies. Klay is very good at what he does.
18. notoriousj - Artis Gilmore, Dennis Rodman - This is like a sim wet dream. You have all of the boards, excellent defense, and top notch efg% already. Real interested to see what you do in the back court.
19. bds9992 - DeAndre Jordan, Kevin McHale - nice efg% & defense. Too many teams that draft McHale don't have the boards elsewhere to support him. That is not the case here.
20. kinoa1 - Tim Duncan, Kawhi Leonard - I actually think Duncan is kind of underrated here. Kawhi was a great value here as well. You've got all five positions pretty much on lock down defensively already with good offense and boards.
21. benhoidal - John Stockton, Julius Erving - I don't like seeing this. Is Ben back? This is ******* frightening.
22. amerk1180 - Moses Malone, Scottie Pippen - I think Moses gets **** on a lot by a lot of people, but he's really nice in this format. This feels about where he should go. Defense, great boards, solid offense. Does a lot of things. Pippen is solid all around. I would say I prefer Dr. J, but Pippen does give you threes, so it's almost six of one, half dozen of another. You're super flexible going forward.
23. midge - Magic Johnson, Rudy Gobert - I feel like both of these guys went exactly where they should, and together give you supreme flexibility picking their teammates. Nice boards. Dimes are on point. Good efg & solid start with usage. Defense. I don't know what isn't to like here.
24. dh555 - Hakeem Olajuwon, Dwyane Wade - This has shades of Ben's 1.0 team. I don't like that. Get the **** out of here with that. But, no, seriously, holy **** at the defensive lock down. Both players have 5-year value in this neighborhood or better. 3-year value is even better. I think I like Ben's Dr. J better than D-Wade, but you can do D-Wade at PG so it could be even better. IDK. I'm gd scared of this duo already.
