Holy cow did I make a miscalculation. Passed on Green and Marshall thinking Rift would take one, and SamY would use his 7-8 million slot for a guard, and I'd be happy with the the one Rift didn't pick. When SamY expressed disappointment with Rift taking Green, I knew I was in trouble. Oh well.

....and I guess will likely remain out there since I closed out the salary grouping.

i guess i gotta take some of the blame here for this draft being on the 24hr skip rule...while i love that rule for savage, i started doing it in the 52 out of pure laziness...the group of owners at the time were mostly the same draft vets and we were always ahead of the clock so i was able to get away with it

in a draft like this we should have went to a clock starting in round 2...12 picks a day in 1 hour intervals was always the standard...10-10 est

as far as skips go i always liked to keep it moving but never skip an owner twice

ah i missed that...marques is an excellent option as well...7-8 was pretty loaded late with sf options

no love for my personal favorite tho...

7-8 Lillard gets no love in the CDL??? I thought samuel might grab him there at the end.

If he was available he was at the top of my list. It went

Horace Grant
Draymond Green
Donyell Marshall
(Someone yet to be drafted I think)

The only reason I didn't draft these guys sooner was bc I was told earlier I could pick a 7-8 guy early which I thought everyone else had picked one, but it was that everyone BEFORE me that round had. But it might work out bc draymonds tov% made me hesitate anyways

Last time I was in this league, I focused on usage first and won it and for some reason I completely changed it up. I feel like I remember good defense and low turnovers being key last time. Here's where my team is at this point, fortunately with the past few seasons, high usage good efg guards are pretty easy to come by.

C - Gorbert(32) Jordan(10) Boban (6)
PF - Jordan(22) Chandler(26)
SF - Boucher(20) Kirilenko(16), ???
SG - Oscar(46), ???
PG - LeBron(31), ???

I used ??? in the 52 once, but he fouled too much and had a ton of turnovers.

Another nice option for evals would be for 23 of us to write about how dontburnearl screwed up his team.

Truth

I think I have a good rebounding team though, with the starters approaching 160% crb

I don’t want to beat a dead horse, but I am going to beat a dead horse.

The whole idea with time slots and a twenty minute window was the time slot, not the twenty minute window. You don’t have twenty minutes to make your pick, you have however long it has been since your last pick. I have been in drafts where I made a pick and then didn’t pick again for two days. I have been in drafts where there was only one person ahead of me and I’m thinking that I’m about to pick and then I pick like 12 hours later. How many people here remember Peggy?

I don’t know what the point of a two hour time slot is. That is taking two days to make it through one round.

Having a specific time slot (20 minutes, 30 minutes, I don’t care) eliminates being one pick away and then having the guy in front of you take 24 hours to make his pick. I know people don’t like refreshing for hours. If you know when you’re going to pick, just get on ten minutes early to make sure that your guy is there. If he isn’t, you still have thirty minutes to make your pick. That is plenty of time. Doesn’t the NFL give teams ten minutes?

Anyhow, I want the draft to go faster, but I want the vast majority to be happy with whatever we decide to do in the future. Also, I was talking about speeding things up the last half of the draft, not round one.

Midge....the idea above isn't bad.

One suggestion, once the Draft order is set and say the timed slots begin on a Saturday, go ahead and start the draft a day or two early and promote getting ahead of the draft order.

It would be fun to set a true Live Draft sometime where everyone is on line at same time and has 2 minutes to make each pick. :)

Yeah, I think what I will do is go back to what dh555 did when he was running this league. If it works, great. If not, we can tweak it to make it better.
