If owners who do well in the first round aren't rewarded with better picks in the second round, then why bother having a first round?

I knew when I posted this many would disagree. I have also said multiple times that I have never played this tourney or the WIS Tourney so I had NO expectations of Winning it against much better owners. That said, then my answer to the question would be the following. Round 1 was to select the Top 360 owners from the total level field which was the closest to even team selection process. Its not about advantaging going forward but rather the reward is advancing in the process. Doesnt make the Winners great or the losers bad guys but rather whose teams performed the best.

• R2 data CLEARLY shows picking early gives you significant advantage over those picking late. May end different, but now it is not close.
• It was also stated in an earlier post that R3 has "a serpentine draft so the discrepancy between low and high would decrease" So then by definition that acknowledges the key to Round 2 is Win in Round 1 as opposed to it being an equal.

Boils down to the point of the Tourney. Is the point to see who can Win by taking advantage with a fast start? or who can "survive" 5-6 rounds of good and bad luck? If you want to really challenge to find the best, you make it a war of attrition where all rounds are as equal as possible and Yes, luck would play into it sometimes. In the real world that would look like random teams drafts/matchups/neutral fields and across 3-5 rounds the "best" would overcome all vs. advantaging teams who did better "last" round. However this is WIS sports, a game we all love (and love to debate about) so the rules are the rules.

Ill say again...thanks to Juice for organizing, thanks to schwarze for all the analytics, Congrats to Cuda on his success but the point is what JTPops said earlier also...this is a snowball if you get behind early..you are basically have little chance and it only gets worse. We do not let teams leading after the 3rd inning make lineup changes (or get more outs) for the rest of the game. Im still hanging by a thread and accomplished what I wanted to (making 1st round cut) so everything from here is a bonus but when I look at my team vs. an early team in 2nd round...some should be embarrassed if I beat them.
