I thought it was a decent game. Can't really tell much from one game though. Tangradi looked good, might become a big presence with more experience.
Flyers won..That sucks...Montreal tonight...Looking for a better outcome.

Rough start.

I really like the way they're playing on the whole.  Love the D (just wish Letang were a little sharper, seems a little lazy with some of his passes, not just the turnover vs philly), love Fleury for the most part although clearly something was off late in the 3rd.

Not sure what's up with Crosby having so much trouble hitting the net.  A little bit of the same problem they have every year offensively, not enough trigger men.  Guys can't worry about being selfish or looking for the extra pretty pass.  Shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot.

Crosby just came off the longest break he's had in three years.  Bound to be rusty.  Give him ten games or so and he'll get back on track.

Still have 80 games left to turn things around.

I agree with you kid. Love the d, especially the way we are exiting our zone under pressure. Also love the way we are jumping up into plays. Could cost us later on, but it sure is exciting to watch. We've had no puck luck so far in the first 2 games, plus we've run into 2 hot goalies. No need to panic yet.

There's one.....Of course all the local dipshits will say they won because Fleury was on the bench.

Ditto. Didn't see most of the game. What happed to Michalek? All I heard is upper body injury.

Took a hit along the boards.  Couldnt' tell for sure what happened, but he was in serious pain.  Sat on the bench for about a minute and then he and the trainer went to the locker room.

My guess is shoulder.  Hope it's nothing major.

With two of their top four defensemen ailing, the Penguins recalled Andrew Hutchinson from the AHL on Tuesday afternoon.

Hutchinson, a free-agent acquisition in the offseason, was among the final players cut in training camp.

Brooks Orpik (undisclosed) did not play Monday in a win at New Jersey. He was bothered late in camp by a groin injury, missing the last two exhibition games. He also underwent offseason surgery on his midsection.

His defense partner, Zbynek Michalek, was injured during the New Jersey win. He left the game favoring his shoulder, and coach Dan Bylsma said Michalek would be re-evaluated today.

If separated and requiring surgery on the shoulder, Michalek could miss many months. Former Penguins defenseman Sergei Gonchar missed five months two years ago when he required surgery on a separated shoulder in training camp.

Michalek was one of the team's two big signings on July 1. Along with snagging the other, Paul Martin, general manager Ray Shero spent $45 million total to upgrade his defense.

That defense could feature only three experienced regulars (Martin, Kris Letang and Alex Goligoski) for a game against Toronto at Consol Energy Center on Wednesday night. First-year defensemen Deryk Engelland and Ben Lovejoy have each played two of three games

Comrie is a scratch tonight? He's been one of our best players so far this season. What's up with that?

I think the official scorer missed giving Phaneuf an assist on that last Talbot goal
