Edit: Just caught up on your chat. Here's a semi-quick story about how he gets his panties all wadded up: When Manny was sent packing and Bay was brought in, the Sux fans were yammering on about how they loved the trade. I said something along the lines of "Yeah, I'd be glad Manny the loafer is gone but Bay just isn't the same hitter." JVF offered a bet. Manny's numbers vs. Bay's OPS, park adjusted, for the rest of the season. $10 GC. I said "Sure" and forgot about. The season ended. Seems that JVF bumped the thread, that had nothing about the bet in the title, to remind me of the bet. I didn't open the thread so I didn't see it. So he pops into another thread and claims I'm welching on the wager. Predictably, I say "WTF are you yammering about?" He says "I bumped the thread a couple of days ago and you didn't acknowledge or pay!" I informed him that I don't actually read every thread and, if he's the last poster in a Sux thread, it's pretty much a gimme that I won't be opening it at all. So he bumps it again, I look at it, see that he's calculated it out, he's won by .0018(or something), say "I guess you won. No way am I recalculating it. You did the work" and immediately send a GC. He gets all pissy because I said "I guess" and sends it back. But, since he's blocked, ADMIN says "Mike, jvford has been trying to send you a GC for a couple of weeks. Could you unblock him so it comes thru?" I say "No, send it back" and never heard another word about it.
So tell bubba that JVF's quick departure doesn't mean he wasn't returning anyway. Just means he got his panties all balled up.
