UNO Draft - Round 25 - MLB88170 Topic

bastan, you can't start a new round until you have made your Expos pick. You have to make the Expos pick even though it is closed out because of the reverse. You can never build your team out of the natural order.

That is correct.

What would that accomplish, other than making everyone wait until late tonight to find out what tomorrow's round is going to be? Is there an Expos pick that I'm failing to see that would interfere with the Pilots?

We have done this twice now Jgreene. Would you rather wait for me to post at 2 am tonight, where no one can proxy or pick early? I am trying to keep the draft running smoothly.

Yeah- I strongly recommend that the next UNO add 6 more quality teams to the mix like the Naps & Robins the last time around. I feel bad for the guys picking 22-24 and the reversers...not much to "get excited" about. I got lucky with Montreal being at #21.

Although this will be my last UNO, I agree with this. An awful lot of crappy options this go around.

The point is that if you have time to make your new round pick, you have time to make your last round pick. You can't modify the rules throughout the draft to accommodate the next day because the person who was intentionally skipped does not want to make the prior pick. It makes no sense that you can make the advance pick and not the one before.

Makes sense to me. He can't make the Expos pick until 9 p.m. If he's going to be out or working at that time, it helps the other owners if he gets the next round started before he gets a chance to make the Expos pick.

The rule was intended to prevent owners from intentionally leaving picks unmade so they could go back and fill it in when they know what they can draft later. In this case, it's a pick that is not even due to be made yet. If I had an early pick in tomorrow's round, I'd sure want to be able to leave someone a proxy list without having to leave one for each of the remaining teams. Getting the next day's round posted in the evening is a courtesy to the other 23 owners, not an attempt to gain an advantage.
