Dead concert in Norfolk, VA. Not really my kind of music but a buddy of mine talked me into going. We didn't have tickets but I said "Phhhttt.....3 concerts in 3 days. We'll get tickets." About 10-15 miles outside of Norfolk, friggin' hippies were standing on the interstate holding signs with "Need one for Saturday". I realized I might be mistaken. After wandering around for hours amongst the unclean, I realized we weren't getting 4 tickets(us plus our women) so I told my buddy "I'll get you a goddam ticket." I found some dude selling one to another dude and essentially outbid the hippie. That angered the other hippies. "That's not what it's about, man" and the like. I said "**** that. I got a ticket, you don't" and walked away(quickly as there were a lot of hippies). I gave the ticket to my boy and he said "Dude, I gotta get you one. You weren't even that interested and risked getting killed by angry hippies so I could go."(I was pretty beefy and I don't think hippies get that angry so I think he exaggerated but, then again, I thought we'd breeze four tickets so I obviously didn't know **** about Dead concerts and the attendees). He found one and our chicks got shut out. We got in and I was there about an hour before I was eventually asked to leave by security as there were too many dancin', trippin' hippies bumping me and I wasn't taking it well. Certainly not my favorite but very memorable.
