I'm putting a kick *** young goalie on the trade block. looking for a young forward or defenseman. if you want a guy to build your team around for seasons to come then this is the guy. been in the league since he was 12 and he's only 23.

derschwanzABLOKKEN(1-0) hosts Hellsinki(0-1) Sunday....

In their 1st game at Hyannis Arena, derschwanzABLOKKEN outpoints Hellsinki by a 5-2 final.

The power play would prove to be the difference as BLOKKEN converted on 3 of 5 opportunities while Hellsinki would whiff on all 5 of their chances.

Jonas Ledenbach stopped 33 of 35 shots in his first game action of the season in between the pipes. Gilberto Shurak (2,1) & Gerry Stamos (1,2) each tallied 3 points in the victory.

Gerard Arnell netted a short-handed goal 53 seconds into overtime off the feed from Tesar Toudle for the winner. Stanley Shelburn scored a goal off an assist from Arnell in the 1st period for the Shamrocks. Elmer Houghland was the star of the game for BLOKKEN stoning 36 of 38 shots including a 1st period where he was peppered with 20. Thomas Aguilar scored the lone goal for derschwanzABLOKKEN.

derschwanzABLOKKEN (2-0-1) travels to face the Canuck Flyers (2-0) on Wednesday.

Canuck Flyers white-wash derschwanzABLOKKEN 3-0 at home.

Alvar Gallion stopped all 23 shots he faced, while Abdul Kocab, Derrick Shandy and Willy Eifert scored the three for the Flyers. Jonas Ledenbach surrendered all 3 goals stopping 15 before being pulled for veteran Scotty Holthoff who saw his first ice of the season. Holthoff did stop all 8 shots he faced.

derschwanzABLOKKEN (2-1-1) travels to North Hollywood (3-0) to face the juggernaut Neurosis on Friday.

On the strength of 3 power play goals, North Hollywood garners a 4-2 home victory over derschwanzABLOKKEN.

North Hollywood outshot BLOKKEN 46-21 on the strength of 11 penalties by the undisciplined upstarts from Massachusetts accumulating to 22 PIM and an attack zone advantage of 30:22 to 17:33.

North Hollywood got 2 points each from Sherman Brunell (1,1), Jorge Zigich (1,1) and Iakin Nozarof (0,2). BLOKKEN netted PP goals with Thomas Aguilar and Leigh Mullican.

The Bison score 2 goals in the 3rd period to break a 2-2 tie and win, 4-2 in Hyannis.

Dakota outshoot BLOKKEN 32-20 in a hard fought contest. Tanner Warhurst netted a goal getting 8 shots on net and Sebastian Martyn also notched a goal while handing out 2 assists to lead Dakota. Leigh Mullican had another strong game with a goal and a dime but it wasn't enough as back-up Jonas Ledenbach gave up 3 goals on 29 shots, the other goal being an empty netter.

BLOKKEN got goals from Gerry Stamos & Than Richison but overmanagement by the general manger recently has this team with a gaping hole for their 2nd goalie as recent acquisition Sonny Anos surrendered 4 goals on 24 shots to the leagues worst team. Couple that with a 1st period injury to Isiah Starrett (who would later be released) and this team was in trouble early and often this game.

derschwanzABLOKKEN (2-4-1) welcomes the Nebraska Blackshirts (0-7) to Massachusetts on Thursday.

The euphoira of starting the season 2-0 has worn off and expansion derschwanzABLOKKEN has lost it's 2nd game of back-to-backs against the leagues two winless teams, 3-2 to Nebraska in Hyannis, Massachusetts.

Beleaguered veteran back-up goaltender Sonny Anos, recently plucked off the waiver wire, had perhaps the best game of his pitiful career stopping 23 of 25 shots. Gerry Stamos and Leigh Mullican scored the other goals for BLOKKEN who held a 28 to 25 shot advantage.

Down 2-0 to begin the 3rd period, Steel City rallied to tie the game at 2-2 behind goals from Evgeni Savin and Bertram Luczak.

derschwanzABLOKKEN gets 2 PP goals from new signee Ollie Bocci, a goal from Cesar Atha and a shutout from another new face, Lyle Carbonara and beat the moribund Slashers 3-0 in Seattle.

Meh. My goalie's 20, has a higher overall rating and his potential is almost 30 higher than MucEyechart's. I'll give you a bag of pucks for your chump.

Your goalie's worth is ranked #5 in the league.

Considering the oldest (and worst) of my three netminders is 22, I think this is the one area the 'Rocks are set at moving forward. Now I just need to develop some scoring punch.

A lot, if not most of it is a function of having been right on those young 'uns I signed off the free agent list after the first season. It's now season 5, and those guys have come back to me with expiring contracts and HUGE demands.

So here is how to go $12.25M over the cap without really trying:

Get knocked out in the semis by the eventual champ. Draft project defenseman in 1st round. Now right up against cap.

See Zigich sitting there on the free agent list getting zero love.

Look at roster. Iseli scored a whopping 6 goals for $2.9M. Dinnendahl had a whopping 14pts and was looking or enormous money (and got just under $2M from the Capitals). 2nd-string goalie Vanloh is 3-5 in the playofs in his career and now wants gigantic cash to re-sign (and got $4.35M from BD to sign with Caps).

Wiggy's team folds. Roarty, whom I've been trying to get from her for two seasons is a free agent. Holy ****, he wants $1.6M per year.

Decide (Zigich + Roarty) > (Iseli + Dinnendahl). Especially over the long haul.

Bye bye Vanloh, Iseli, Dinnendahl, Stamos (1g + 1a -4 in one season, -2 in the playoffs, zero points), Macayan (ouch, a regular since season one), Holtmann (never played) and Doerksen (offered him round the loop, no takers).

Finnski signs Macayan and his 105 DEF, Gregos jumps on young Holtmann and his power shot. Stamos is currently leading Blokken in scoring.

Hello Zigich and Roarty.

Find self with 12 forwards, 7 defensemen and 2 goalies. Ouch. Depth used to be what NHN was known for. Double ouch. One of the forwards opens the season on the injured list, so I have exactly ZERO spare bodies healthy.

Need body, anybody, Have 180K to spend. Sign Chargois (47 overall) for $101K as disaster insurance.

Read post here by Sleepy. He has 40 skaters and no cap space. Hmmm. That gives me an idear.

Re-sign homegrown studs Nazarov ($2.3M - up from 688K), Dacres ($2M up from $700K), Brunell ($1M up from <$400K), Akimov ($1.5M up from $750K), Cannone ($1.2M from $800K). Now officially cap-fucked. Over $38M re-signing own players.

Ring up Sleepy. I'll pay three of those guys to sit in MY press box, freeing you of the burden of paying them to sit in yours without having to pay to buy out their contracts.

I give up the best player in the deal and $1M cash, but get three warm bodies. Now, counting Chargois and his 47 overall, I have my 22 skaters. Should survive the season. Re-sign one of the guys I got from Sleepy with an expiring contract for $500K raise, knowing the free agent list is off limits to me for all times now...

Flip one of the forwards I got FROM Sleepy TO Finnski for right defenseman. Actually save $300K on the deal, but now at $41M and change.

Brain reasonably happy. 2 goalies, 8 defensemen and 13 forwards (plus Chargois who now, hopefully will never see the ice).

Wait! AJ is having a fire sale, and Probie is shopping. Probie already blew his cap trading for Ake Orosco.

AJ generously offers me Iseli back. Problem #1 is, he's making $2.2M more than I did when I cut him. Other problem is, he's offered Shurak to SSS. Other problem is, Iseli for Chargois is not a fair trade, game engine won't go for it.

Brain throws in $3.25M and Iseli (86) returns to the NHN from a nine-game exile. Shurak (89) goes to SSS.

While waiting for trades to process, NHN beats SSS again, 4-3.
