before you laugh at it you might want to hear the original by charlie feathers the song is called i cant hardly stand it..if you think the song is funny you dont know as much as might think about authentic rockabilly.....the original has the hiccups..the hiccups were a feature of original rockabilly and the song was a classic fronm the 50s.

it wasnt meant to be funny...it is revved up real rockabilly..it is a cover of a famous song..enhanced.....it is fun but not funny ha ha.
once you listen to several cramps songs you will get it...there is always camp but not mockery.

at least you enjoyed it.
i take them seriously..i saw them live several times.
they are one of the most beloved cult bands from the 1976 - 1980 era........they invented psychobilly.....
and they definitely had a giant sense of humor.
their first single was human fly...that will and should make you chuckle.

the concept you drag out here "authentic rockabilly" is funny

how i know funny from unfunny is if it makes me laugh
4/12/2019 11:49 PM
its ok.....allof their songs do bring a smile ..
4/12/2019 11:51 PM
no one has ever done what they did..they had panache.....im just saying that particular song was a cover and very true to it.....but punked up a bit.

the best new artist i have heard since amy winehouse / the thrills / adelle is
billie eilissh ...she tore up coachella....has number 1 album.....she has a unique sound.
she has " it " in great quantities.....the coolest thing today.
sounds to me like a cross of norah jones and jesus and mary chain.
will win tons of recognition in 2019.

saw Graham Parker in concert last weekend, and since have been listening to a lot of his music. I forgot how great an album Squeezing Out Sparks" is! Parker mentioned at the show that it was 40 years ago in March that the album was originally released. 40 years! Man, I am old!

how was his voice........sparks is indeed a fantastic album.
4/16/2019 6:30 PM
His voice was good. His guitar playing left something to be desired. Not that he was ever a great guitar player. He's definitely showing his age somewhat.

i dont like the term poor man" blank but he was like elvis costello's lieutenant.

In a thread currently titled Rock and Roll - New Blood, the 418 yr. old Graham Parker gets a shout out. Now that made me laugh.
