Park is a factor. Pitching park can get away with less pitchers, hitter's park typically requires more.

Man you guys are brave. I’m in SD in the NL and I’d never dream of running less then 13 pitchers. That being said I can use a guy with 8 stamina with 90’s splits who will only pitch 30 innings by doing that.

I have one team in the AL, one in the NL. Both in pitcher's parks. Both use 13 position players and 12 pitchers.
In both cases, I always have one position player - a defensive utility man - end up with less than 100 ABs, and one pitcher - a short reliever in low leverage situations - end up with around 40 IP.

So I think the takeaway is that you can use those last two roster spots for whatever fits in with the first 23 best.

And yes, if I get into the playoffs I go down to 10 pitchers.

If a career minor league player reaches 6 pro years (still with MiLB options) and becomes a free agent, and has a major league $$$ demand and then gets signed (from free agent pool) to a one- or two-year big league deal, but is put on a minor league roster with 40-man status, can I assume that once the one or two years is over he will demand a big league salary again, even with 40-man status?

No. If he is on the 40-man and in the MiLB at rollover (assuming he is pre-arb), he will make a minor league salary.

Thx. To avoid the ST ratings hit, do you sign before 3pm ET (post 8th game) or before 7pm ET?

Between 3 and 7.

Remember, if they’re old guys, they can still take a hit when they sign.

Remind me again, Range and arm strength determine + and - plays and glove and arm accuracy determine errors?

I know it’s SSS but it drives me nuts that this guy has 3 errors in his first 5 games this season.

edit: playing 2b. Not SS.

Looks normal results to me. For me that is not enough of either range or glove for 2nd. I would play him there if he was a .850 + ops guy but he's a .700 ops guy.
3/4/2020 9:07 AM
Small sample. He'll get enough + plays at 2b to make up for the errors. I love big arms playing 2b. You see a decent amount of plus plays on double plays.

I used this guy at 2nd due to his hitting. Player Profile: Stephen Blair - Hardball Dynasty Baseball | WhatIfSports and I had a good 3rd baseman. He only had 5 errors it looks like maybe due to his range being low?
3/4/2020 11:08 AM
Its odd, I always thought there were two ratings that were responsible for errors and 2 that were responsible for minus plays.

I always thought range and arm strength determined plus, minus or neutral plays and glove and arm accuracy determined errors.
Its looking like its not that case though based off of your last guy you posted.

I'm seeing an international prospect who is already 22, but has only 55 makeup. Will he come close to the projections?
3/4/2020 12:34 PM
Depends on your projection budget (adv scouting and intl scouting).
3/4/2020 1:08 PM
A 22 yr old International isn't going to grow hardly at all. Not enough owners know that the older they are, the more completely developed they arrive. And yes that means they don't grow compared to College players at the same age.
