Yeah, I'm agreeing on the cap. I think it needs to be high if there is one. Part of the joy is grabbing whomever and letting them shine. Even reducing the years to the 100 or so would do a lot to dilute the talent pool and inevitably lower it regardless.

Yeah, I hated giving up on that 1906 season but 1909 isn't too awful bad as a back-up - which allowed me to get into the 1930's...and I ended up getting Braxton to boot!



Braxton was someone I really wanted badly. I had to take Lindstrom at 3B towards the end of selecting my lineup and that nixed Braxton's best year. Didn't really like any other 3B from the years I had left to choose from. On another note, looks like I'll wind up around $187m

I think if you shorten the player window, you don't really need to lower the cap or at the very least it becomes not much of an issue. The shorter years will lead to more owner overlap and finding high priced talent this late in the draft would seem far less likely to happen.

I am really curious to see how things play out. If there’s a salary cap next time - it should be high enough so Ruth and Bonds can play at their best.

Hypothetical- a runner is on second base, all other things being equal, who would you rather have hitting at the plate.. Bill Buckner who is hitting .300 with a .320 OBP or player X batting .270 with a .320 OBP? The next player up bats .250.
