Milwaukee heads back home to face Kansas City and St. Louis.
3/3/2010 10:25 PM
Game 115: It's Milwaukee putting up crooked numbers in this one, tallying four runs in the second and adding three more in the seventh on Willie Aikens' home run. It's just enough to hold off KC, 7-6, as Rich Gossage finally gets the final out (after walking home a run) for his 26th save.

Game 116: Roy Smalley drives in four runs and Rich Gossage pitches a perfect ninth for his 27th save in a 7-5 Rider win.

Game 117: Tim Raines has three hits, including a home run, and Roy Smalley drives in two more as Milwaukee takes down St. Louis 5-3 in the first of two. Lary Sorensen goes seven for the win, improving to 7-13.

Game 118: Milwaukee sends this one to extra innings with a run off Bruce Sutter in the ninth, but lose 7-5 in 12 as Kevin Hickey's third inning of work proves too much. Game 121: Milwaukee has no trouble making contact against Geoff Zahn, but they don't do much scoring. Still, they take a 3-2 lead in the top of the eighth on Tim Raines' single. Ron Reed, usually dependable, gives up the lead in the bottom half when Bill Russell hits a two-run triple. Jerry Mumphrey triples to lead off the ninth against premier closer Rollie Fingers, and with one down Hal McRae walks, but Sixto Lezcano grounds into a double play to end it; it's Fingers' 48th save of the season.

Game 128: Damaso Garcia and Hal McRae, the 2-3 hitters in the Rider lineup, combine to strand nine runners, which pales in comparison to Juan Bonilla, who strands seven all by himself. The Mooseheads win 4-2, dealing Tommy John his 10th loss.

Game 129: Bill Madlock homers and drives in three, and the Riders score three in the ninth to take the series with a 7-4 victory.

Game 137: The Rider bats shut it down for the day after three innings and the Mammoths snap a 3-3 tie with two in the eighth off Steve Comer to win their second straight, 5-3.

Game 138: Milwaukee rallies from an 8-2 deficit to tie the game in the seventh, scoring the tying run on an error by Tim Flannery, and then takes a 9-8 lead in the eighth. The Riders then let the Mammoths back in, as John Montefusco uncorks a wild pitch with a man on third. The game goes to extras and neither team really threatens until the 15th. With two down, Grant Jackson enters to pitch for New York. Big mistake. The Riders hit five consecutive singles off Jackson to take a 12-9 lead. You know Rich Gossage won't give that lead up.
