Kudos to Tanner Glass for calling it like it is: "if you polled 700 NHL players, 680 would say he knows exactly what he’s doing and knows the turnbuckle is there.”

Smells like there is some sour grapes around here.

All I can say is Chris Chelios and Brian Propp.   Amazing how Montreal fans don't like the shoe being on the other foot.

I really do believe the NHL has erred in not issuing a minor cosmetic suspension to Chara.

For an organization presenting an entertainment product to the public, that looks bad.

However, it would seem to me that by absolving Chara, someone - at least Mike Murphy - takes at least a partial view the way I do:  that the injured player shares responsibility for placing himself in a dangerous position.  But the NHL has left that unsaid.

If they're going to think it, perhaps they should say it, and see what message that sends to the players.

Ummm, this wasn't penalty worthy back then.
And besides, I didn't like those players dirty plays either.
And I'm a Montreal Canadiens' fan.

I completely agree.  It also sends a message that they will protect the star's "integrity" over the actual action.  They definitely should have had Chara sit for a couple of games.

YOUR POST MAKES NO SENSE.  THE ONLY THINGS THAT THE CHARA HIT PROVES IS THAT DEEP INSIDE, THIS GAME IS REALLY JUST THE SAME AS IT WAS 20 OR 30 YEARS AGO.  SOME TEAMS THINK IT'S ALRIGHT FOR THEIR PLAYERS TO HURT PLAYERS FROM OTHER TEAMS, BUT IT'S A TRAVESTY...CALL OUT THE SHERIFF! IF ONE OF THEIR OWN PLAYERS GETS HURT IN THE SAME MANNER.  THE TANNER GLASS BULLSH*T IS NOTHING BUT RHETORIC.  GUARANTEED HE WOULD DO THE SAME AND PROBABLY HAS.  BUT ANY OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE ANOTHER TEAM LOOK OR SOUND BAD, ALL TEAMS WILL JUMP AT THAT.  BETCHA, TANNER GLASS WOULD HAVE DEFENDED BERTUZZI BACK WHEN, IF HE WAS HIS TEAMMATE THEN.

I defended Bertuzzi.
The reason I defended him was cuz he was retaliating to Moore having knocked out Naslund.
I was defending his motive.
But I was not defending his method.
His method was physical revenge.

In this instance, Max had never knocked out any of the Bruins' players, nor had any of the other current Habs players.

A COMPLETELY FAIR COMPARISON WOULD BE:
So a Bertuzzi example would be if a teammate of Max' would knock Chara out even worse than Max was knocked out by Chara.

Thomas will be in the net tonight vs Buffalo.... When will Kaberle do something on the PP?

Predictable...living in Montreal all I`ve heard today was how things have to be made safe for players, which is true, but where were all the Habs fans when Marc Savard got hit? Where were they when Crosby went down or when Dave Bolland got an elbow to the head yesterday?

They were as quiet as a Hab thread in WIS.
