Oh yeah and if I am successful, I win 400 dollars. if I hurt myself I lose 20, plus god knows how much in doctors bills. I will probably need Tommy John surgery.

I too have talked to some of the baseball players on our team in the training room while I was getting an IT band massage the other day (eff I hate those with a passion). There was a LH first baseman, a LH outfielder, a RH second baseman, and the trainer who was massaging me but works predominantly with the baseball team. They all laughed at the idea of a LH2B trying to turn two, and when I asked them to help me film the two ies refused to be the LH2B (and the trainer forbade them to as well) but they agreed to loan me a LH glove and act as SS and 1B to help me film (I'm a righty but I live with a decently athletic y who loves a challenge and agreed to try it). My schedule is absolutely packed on mondays (7 hours of class and 3 hours of track practice) but tuesdays are wide open and they've got a night game so we're filming at 1:30 and I should have the video up after my workout and dinner around 8pm tuesday night.

Please allow me to echo these sentiments as well.

In the meantime, it seems like it may be appropriate to start an "Unclean Ducking Baseball GD Forum" thread.

Also, to fully prove (or disprove) the theory, we will need multiple examples of the following methods:

1. Salt Shaker

2. Exorcist

3. Ninja Star (aka Frisbee for the baby boomers)

4. Tasmanian Devil

5. Boomerang

6. Long Snapper

7. Extra Arm

8. Ping-Pong
4/14/2008 11:32 AM
I think we'll just assume the Tasmanian Devil, the Boomerang, and Ping-Pong WON'T work. 1,2,3 and 6 will be done, along with probably Extra Arm (which I'm a HUGE fan of, and is my personal favorite) given we have the bodies (likely)

Ninja Star flip, all the way!
4/14/2008 2:46 PM
Actually, as I was standing in my office practicing the Ninja flip motion, I was struck by a new way to do it.
Mind you, I'm not saying it would be successful, but I think it may have as good a shot as any other method, and less injury risk than some. It may actually be what some of you are thinking of as the Ninja star flip, but the wrist motion is different than a frisbee throw.
The Option.
Facing 3B, foot on 1B side of the bag to protect yourself (somewhat) from the incoming running. Take the throw from SS, reach in with hand, take ball out and throw it with a motion similar to an option pitch in football. It would seem to be more accurrate and faster than Ninjas Star flip, since throwing a baseball like a frisbee would seem to present problems.
Can you give that one a shot too rojo?
