If your guy goes down with 40 day injury, and you put him on 60 day IR, how long before you know whether or not he will get a second recovery cycle?
Almost guarantee he won't get a second bump. Usually a guy needs to go down for somewhere between 13-30 days in order to get the second recovery bump. Your guy will probably get his only recovery bump in 39 game cycle days (when he is one day away from being fully healthy).
If a player goes down for 30 days, and you put him on the 60, when usually does his first and second bump happen?

A about two to three real life days (six to nine game cycles) before he is eligible to be activated.

I guess what I'm asking is what point will I know if a second bump is no longer possible -- 32 days into the 60 he got his first bump.

About two to three real life days (6-9 recovery cycles) before he is eligible to be activated from DL.

The first bump will happen at 29 days. The second bump will about 2 to 3 real life days (6 to 9 recovery) cycles. If he doesn't get the second bump six recovery cycles before DL activation date, he won't get it at all.

anyone else have the problem of an international prospect disappearing along with the bonus he was offered?
Explain. Is this a player you signed?

he's gone, just gone, the money I offered him is gone too. If he signed with another team I would get the money back,

He cannot just disappear. Did you fail to assign him, release him, waive him and he was picked up? Does he show on your financial page as a cost to you?

What was the players name?

The only explanation I can think of, given incomplete information, is that the player was signed, but wasn't assigned to any roster, and after ten days he was auto-released - which is what the game does if the player isn't assigned.

Go to 'World' -> 'News' - > League Transactions. When you get there switch Level to 'All' Franchise - your franchise, Timeframe - All season type - All. Then either sort by name or by date and you should be able to find him.

I was trying to get a Type D comp pick with my first rounder this year. Made him an offer that met his demands. He said he'd think about it but really wanted to go to college.

What I didn't consider was that the AI would auto-sign a bunch of draft picks to fill my rookie league, thus eating up all of the prospect salary space I had planned to use to sign the first-rounder. So now the status of my offer to the first-rounder is not withdrawn, but "cancelled."

I assume I'm not getting that comp pick, right?

Correct.

You MUST get your rookie roster up to snuff within a couple rl days of the draft.
The email about the draft explicitly states that it will start signing guys if you don't.

If your rookie roster is under staffed it will actually impact other teams as your games won't be able to sim.

Thanks. Damn. I was planning to just sign some guys from tryout camp. That hurts!

If I can, I usually try to keep my rookie roster packed (10-12 guys) from the previous season. That way you can fill the roster with a small amount of players if you don't have the money to sign a ton of guys or if 1 or 2 guys goes ultra expensive. That way too, if you want to sign a bunch of guys from the draft, just boot the scrubs from the rookie league.

You could do the tryout camp thing, but in the future you have to do that before or slightly after the draft.

Yep. Tryout camp guys generate during the PM2 part 2 cycle after the last day of spring training. If you are the first one there, you might be able to nab a few high makeup DITR candidates as well. Also, during the pm cycle (part 2) right before rookie ball starts, the tryout camp seems to update. It doesn't refresh because the old players are still there, but new guys get added if the tryout camp depth is below a certain threshold.
