Agreed. I will hold off on posting ozo's pick until we get some more feedback.

I think this was pretty clearly a mistake and not an attempt to game the system. But there still needs to be SOME consequence. I think dropping to the bottom of the round is appropriate, if the swap is allowed to stand.

I don't have time to police this stuff during the day and individually check in with everyone dipped would have to jump over to make sure they'd be ok with it so that an exception could be made. We have rules for a reason. It was communicated clearly. Sorry.
I'll just leave this here.

In my opinion, once a legal pick is made that pick should stand.

Given that the original pick wasn't ineligible (just sub-optimal), it seems that the most fair thing would be having the original pick stand and keeping the same slot. If the player swap goes forward, then dropping to the end of the current round for the next pick seems fair.

Yeah based on that same reasoning, I would also vote that Ozo lives with the Frank Smith mistake and we carry on.

Based on all that, I will concur.

(To be clear, I earlier had posted no objection. But upon seeing dipped's post and others I realized we were breaking with the established precedents and I deleted my earlier post)

WTF?? I come from the WIS NBA community.... I don't know how the MLB guys do things... but I can promise u that on the NBA side of WIS, Once a pick is made, it is final. This is ridiculous.

I'd like to change my Herm McFarland pick to Jim Thome. Thanks. I know you guys will understand. It was just a mistake I made.

So the order stays the same correct, since both of Ozos picks were tied to Speaker? We can move on now? If so then Ozo is up.

jtpsops I guess that means you can post his proxy.

Sounds like there's a pretty good consensus to stick to the rules. I will post ozo's proxy on the understanding that his 12th round pick is Frank Smith.

ozo selects Duane Ward (David Wells)

I'll have my selection shortly

Kirby Puckett (Jack Morris)

Wait - Should we put a hold for now until Ozo checks in? His proxy was sent with the assumption that he could change the Smith pick. Since that’s not the case, we probably should give him the option to change it. Thoughts?

I doubt it would change this pick, regardless of whether or not he has Caldwell or Smith.

I think we should hold off until we hear from ozo or until his time slot passes. Maybe he'll want to take Caldwell after all.

He sent the proxy, so I say go with it. But, I guess there isn't much harm in waiting until 11:30 when his time is officially up... If I were making the final decision, I'd say to just keep going.
