Game 10: The Spectres do nothing against Orlando Hernandez and waste a good outing by the pitching staff in a 2-1 loss.

Game 11: St. Louis puts five runs on the board in the first inning off Joe Kennedy and holds off a late Montreal rally for a 9-6 win.

Game 12: Tomo Ohka has a brilliant start and the Spectres salvage the finale against St. Louis, 3-1.

Divisional play will begin at Philadelphia; the Seaphils share the early division lead with New York at 6-6.

Game 13: A battle of bullpens goes in Philadelphia's favor as Frank Thomas hits a run-scoring double in the bottom of the 12th to beat the Spectres, 6-5.

Game 14: Mark Bellhorn's 0-5 day strands seven baserunners and the Spectres waste a 12-7 advantage in the hit column, losing 8-5 to Philadelphia.

Game 15: Dave Burba strikes out eight batters over six shutout innings and the Spectres finally win a game, beating Philly 4-1.

Game 16: The Spectres' bullpen costs them a game, allowing two runs in each of the eighth, ninth, and tenth innings as Philadelphia takes the series with an 8-6 victory. Ruben Sierra is 5-5 and hits his first two home runs of the season for Montreal.

The Spectres travel to New York next to take on the Cosmos.

Game 17: Tomo Ohka pitches another great game and AJ Hinch hits his fifth home run as the Spectres survive a late Cosmo rally to win the opener, 5-4.

Game 18: New York evens things up with a win by the identical 5-4 score; Montreal forces extra innings with three in the eighth and another in the ninth but the Cosmos come through in the 10th to claim victory.

Game 19: Michael Cuddyer makes his Spectre debut with two hits and an RBI, and Edgardo Alfonzo hits a two-run homer to help Omar Daal to his first win of the season, 5-2 over the Cosmos.

Game 20: Ramon Hernandez is 0-5 with 7 LOB, dropping his average to .061. Dave Burba takes another shelling and the Cosmos take the series with an 11-6 win.

Interleague sets with Chicago and Kansas City are next on the schedule.

Game 21: For once the Montreal bullpen outlasts the opposition's, as Luther Hackman and Eddie Guardado pitch two scoreless innings apiece and Ramon Hernandez wins it with an RBI double in the 12th, snapping an 8-8 tie. Hernandez has three hits and two RBI in the game.

Game 22: Michael Cuddyer draws a bases-loaded walk in a four-run third inning and later hits a grand slam to lead the Spectres to a 9-2 victory over the White Sox. Tomo Ohka has another solid outing for the win.

Game 23: Montreal takes a 3-2 lead in the third when Mark Bellhorn hits his first home run of the season, but the Spectres can't string together any hits after that and the bullpen can't hold on; KC wins it 4-3 on Randall Simon's pinch hit homer in the ninth.

Game 24: Omar Daal throws five scoreless innings, Denny Hocking has a key pinch hit single in the seventh, and Eddie Guardado closes it out as the Spectres beat the Devils at home, 3-2.

Montreal stays home to host Pittsburgh, who currently shares the NL East basement with us at 10-14.

Game 25: The Spectres get good pitching through eight, then survive a Magglio Ordonez homer in the ninth to beat Pittsburgh, 3-2.

Game 26: Hideo Nomo strikes out 11 Spectres and the Melons use a three-run first inning to spark a 4-3 triumph over Montreal.

Game 27: Montreal wins a marathon, getting eight scoreless innings from the bullpen before Wendell Magee wins it in the 14th with an RBI single that scores Melvin Mora just ahead of the tag, following a one-out single and stolen base by Mora. Montreal wins 6-5.

Game 28: Chuck Finley gets his first win of the season, striking out nine batters in seven innings, as the Spectres beat the Melons 4-3 to take the series. Prospect shortstop Roderick Stier has three hits, including a double and a triple, to spark the offense.

Interleague matchups with Cleveland and Washington are next.

Game 29: Roderick Stier doubles twice and drives in three to key the Spectres' five-run seventh, which brings a 6-2 win to Montreal.

Game 30: Dave Burba pitches well but is outdone by Cleveland's Joel Pineiro, who runs his record to 5-0 with a 2-1 win over Montreal. Melvin Mora strands five baserunners for the Spectres.

Game 31: Wendell Magee drives in four runs and Joe Kennedy comes within one batter of throwing a complete game as the Spectres beat Washington 8-1.

Game 32: Ken Griffey Jr. hits his first home run of the season and Tomo Ohka pitches another gem as the Spectres beat the Commandos 8-3. Ohka improves to 5-1 with a 2.22 ERA.

The Spectres head to San Francisco to renew hostilities with the 69ers, who lead the West Division at 21-11.

Game 33: Mark Bellhorn homers but that's the only run Montreal can muster off Kerry Wood and the hated Niners take the opener in a 9-1 laugher.

Game 34: Omar Daal pitches five scoreless innings and hits a solo home run as the Spectres even the series with a 7-2 win. Three Spectres have three hits and AJ Hinch hits his sixth home run.

Game 35: Montreal drops the series when Brian Daubach drives home the winning run in a 3-2 Frisco victory as a pinch hitter in the bottom of the ninth. Kelvim Escobar takes the loss.

The Spectres will face St. Paul and Seattle in the next round of interleague play.

Game 36: Visiting St. Paul lays waste to the Montreal pitching staff, collecting 12 hits and 12 runs in an eight-run victory. Joe Kennedy allows seven runs, only three earned, to take the loss.

Game 37: The Montreal offense stays cold, managing only five hits off Roy Oswalt and Johan Santana, dropping the game by a 4-2 score.

Game 38: Seattle clubs Chuck Finley around for four runs in the first inning. The Spectres answer with their own 4-run inning in the third, but the Emeralds pull away from there, taking a 10-5 victory in Montreal.

Game 39: Montreal clubs three home runs, but all solo shots, and they decline to score in any other fashion, dropping the road game to the Emeralds 6-3.

Montreal returns home to face Chicago (24-15).

Game 40: Montreal snaps a five-game skid, scoring four runs in both the first and second innings to chase Chicago starter Rick Helling and cruising to a 12-4 win. Jose Rijo and Luther Hackman contribute two scoreless innings each in relief of Dave Burba.

Game 41: Montreal rallies from a 3-0 deficit, getting two-run hits from Ramon Hernandez and Wendell Magee in the fifth inning, then hold on to win 4-3.

Game 42: Chipper Jones and Eric Hinske combine for seven hits and eight RBI as the Bootleggers destroy Montreal 8-4 to avoid a sweep.

The Spectres head to Houston to face the Lone Stars.

Game 43: The top four hitters in the Montreal lineup collect at least three hits each and the Spectres cruise to an 11-2 victory over Houston behind Chuck Finley, who gets his second win with a strong seven-inning performance.

Game 44: Montreall scores three in the ninth to open up a close game and win their second straight in Houston, 5-1.

Game 45: Wendell Magee has four hits from the leadoff spot but the rest of the Spectre lineup combines for only five more, and Montreal loses a 2-1 decision to Houston, blowing a chance at a sweep.

The Spectres head back home to face the dominant Milwaukee Krauts (32-13).

Game 46: Mark Bellhorn has four hits and Bret Boone drives in three runs as the Spectres beat the Krauts 7-3, getting 3.1 scoreless innings from the bullpen.

Game 47: The Spectres move within a game of .500, getting eight shutout innings from Tomo Ohka and nine runs from the offense. Ramon Castro hits his first home run of the season and Ken Griffey Jr. adds a three-run, pinch hit homer (only his second of the season).

Game 48: Ramon Castro and Wendell Magee deliver run-scoring hits in the bottom of the ninth inning to deliver a 3-2 win for the Spectres, putting Montreal back at .500 after a sweep of the Krauts.

Interleague series with Detroit and Baltimore are next.

Game 49: Montreal gets 8.1 scoreless innings from the bullpen, but unfortunately the damage is done long before the game ends. Detroit chases a wild Omar Daal with NINE first inning runs. AJ Burnett doesn't fool around with that lead and the Spectres appear a bit disheartened. Montreal manages only two hits and loses 9-0.

Game 50: Dave Burba pitches seven 3-hit innings and the Spectres even things up with Detroit, winning 4-1 on the road.

Game 51: Montreal hits four home runs, including Ramon Hernandez' first of the season, and Joe Kennedy pitches a complete game as the Spectres make short work of Baltimore, 10-4.

Game 52: Felix Rodriguez turns a close game into a blowout, allowing five runs while retiring only one batter, and the Aureoles get revenge, 7-2.

The Spectres head home to face the NL West leading LA Looters.

Game 53: Bullpen woes continue as Eddie Guardado suffers his second blown save of the season, turning a 7-6 ninth-inning lead into a 12-7 defeat.

Game 54: Montreal gets back on track (and back to .500) with an 11-3 defeat of the Looters. Geoff Jenkins and Denny Hocking drive in three runs each while the bullpen throws three scoreless innings in relief of winner Omar Daal (5-4).

Game 55: Carl Crawford gets three hits in front of Mark Bellhorn, who hits a double and homer while driving in two runs, helping the Spectres beat LA, 5-1. Dave Burba pitches six strong innings to improve his record to 5-5.

The Spectres will now host the division-leading Seaphlils (31-24).

Game 56: Joe Kennedy pitches into the eighth inning and Carlos Delgado drives in four runs as the Spectres take the opener from Philadelphia, 11-3. Edgardo Alfonzo and Mark Bellhorn hit consecutive home runs in the sixth.

Game 57: Tomo Ohka pitches another gem and Wendell Magee hits a three-run double to account for all of Montreal's scoring in a 3-1 victory over Philly. Eddie Guardado pitches a scoreless ninth for his 12th save.

Game 58: Montreal gets two 3-run homers in the first inning (from Ruben Sierra and Ramon Castro), hangs on through a furious rally by Philly, and emerges with their fifth straight win, 8-7. The Spectres also grab a share of the division lead with the sweep of the Seaphils.

The Cosmos visit next.

Game 59: The Spectres' stay at the top of the division is shortlived as they are 1-hit by Jarrod Washburn and Antonio Alfonseca, dropping a 2-0 decision to New York and falling a game back of Philly, who beats Pittsburgh in the opener of their series.

Game 60: Kelvim Escobar pitches two scoreless innings of relief and hits a home run, but the damage had already been done; the Cosmos score six times in the sixth and hold on for an 8-7 win.

Game 61: Edgardo Alfonzo has four hits, including a double and home run, and Joe Kennedy pitches a complete game as the Spectres salvage the finale against New York, winning 10-1.

We head to Pittsburgh to finish out this round of divisional play.
