The power play would prove to be the difference as BLOKKEN converted on 3 of 5 opportunities while Hellsinki would whiff on all 5 of their chances.

Jonas Ledenbach surrendered all 3 goals stopping 15 before being pulled for veteran Scotty Holthoff who saw his first ice of the season. Holthoff did stop all 8 shots he faced.

BLOKKEN got goals from Gerry Stamos & Than Richison but overmanagement by the general manger recently has this team with a gaping hole for their 2nd goalie as recent acquisition Sonny Anos surrendered 4 goals on 24 shots to the leagues worst team. Couple that with a 1st period injury to Isiah Starrett (who would later be released) and this team was in trouble early and often this game.

Salisbury took an early lead as all-time GHL great Ake Orosco netted a goal just 2 minutes into the game. SSS then scored a PP goal as the leagues only Armenian, Falalei Kuzmin, scored off a feed from Keenan Woodrich.
BLOKKEN held a stunning 43-22 shots advantage over SSS and were able to overcome the game ending injury to stud goalie Lyle Carbonara in the 2nd period. Elmer Houghland replaced Carbonara between the pipes, but only had to stop 8 shots the rest of the way as SSS struggled to get anything going against BLOKKEN's well laid game plan.
