If you are consistently losing one run games, do you make changes to the lineup to add offense or upgrade defense?

I usually do nothing at first.  Then I'll mess with the line-up and settings.   Last resort is to change players out.  Whether I was losing 3-2 or 9-8 would be the decision-maker on offense/defense upgrades.

Nope.  Just wasn't around much.

If it was this one " then WHIP is a bad stat to use to evaluate pitchers", yep.

i'm considering a new strategy for myself: never trade out of need and never seek a trade for anything other than a backup/non-impact player. whaddya think?

When you trade for need, you usually lose the trade.  I do it and I know I lose.  If you feel like you're losing every deal, I wouldn't trade impact players.

Impossible to answer.  That would imply that there is human intelligence involved.   I don't think that's the case.  However, as jrdx has said he's in his 30s and uncleal was in HS, I'd say jrdx has little chance to survive outside of his momma's basement.  uncleal may learn some skills in the next 20 years.

I hadn't considered that.  However, I don't think he'd be allowed to play HS baseball at 35.   Then again, if his coach was dumb enough to let a lefty play 2B and turn two with some crazyass ninja slingshot move, maybe he was.   Although I think it would be more like this:
