Got in the car today and Uke was giving the score. He said "Brewers 10, Nationals coming to bat." I thought to myself "Bob's really drunk today."
But it was true! Brewers scored 10 runs in the first inning. Jason Marquis faced seven batters, and all reached base. Craig Counsell later hit a GRAND SLAM.
Brewers held on to win, 11-7, but Doug Davis could not take advantage of a TEN RUN LEAD to get his first win of the season, allowing six hits in the fifth and leaving before he could get out of the inning.
OH YEAHHH!!!!
In four series, the Brewers have won one and their last three series have gone LLW. Which is a big change from last season, when they couldn't win on Sundays to save their lives.
