You guys can dish it all you want...thanks for ruining an otherwise fun discussion forum about hockey by turning it into a ******* contest.

Also, when, not if the canucks choke, and when, not if the hawks win another 2 cups before the canucks get their first, you'll never hear the end of it.
What a sore loser............Wahhhhhh!!!
Why don't you STFU...your Canucks have won jack **** and you're spouting off about another team like a little *****.
Get back to us when your team gets out of the 2nd round.

I saw that.  That is a megaton of money for a guy who can't kill penalties and is supposedly a top-pair d-man.  This may make it tougher on us to re-sign Seabrook, though that may not be the worst thing in the world.

I didn't even think about the seabrook implications.... you are right about that

I do think it's a lot of money for buff at this point in time.

Don't get me wrong he's been good for the Thrashers, but I agree that 5.2 per year is alot for where he's at. I probably would have offered 4 on a 2-3 year deal and see how it goes. He's had a terrible time since the new year and hasn't played as well as in the first half. That was the biggest issue the Hawks had with him as well: he was dominant at times and invisible at others.

That being said, if Byfuglien is worth 5.2 a year in their organization, how much is Tobias Enstrom gonna be worth, 6.5 million? That's where the deal doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

As for implications where Seabrook is concerned, I still think he falls in the 4.5 range, simply because he hasn't developed his offensive game as much as Buff or Keith. But before this deal they probably could have gotten away with 4.

The only upside on possibly losing Seabrook is that the organization is really deep in d-men.  Leddy, Olson, Lalonde and Vishneiwsky all have lots of talent and if only 2 blossom, the loss won't be so bad.

Coach Q in the hospital for non-cardiac reasons.  Hopefully we get some sort of spark for the next few games.

#6 Ducks (w/ 68 points) get Ruutu.  Will the #11 Hawks (64 points) be buyers or sellers?

Ruutu? Seriously? Cmon moy. He hasn't helped a team in many, many years. That's the LEAST of the Hawks worries.
the second sentence in my post was the question.

Hawks will possibly add a depth defenseman, but really can't afford much else.

I more so agree with andru - they look for similar players w/ a better chemistry fit. I've heard rumors they are shopping for D though muddy - possibly Mark Stuart and possibly today. On the other hand - I think if they really fall behind in the next week they might shop seabrook. His contract will have to be $5 mil plus just to match buff and jack johnson.

Last night was a tough one for hawks fans... DET, NSH, PHX, and SJ got 2, LAK got 1, VAN got 0.
