So basically if a player has real good splits, I can live with mediocre contact. mediocre contact and mediocre splits is bad. A real solid batting eye wil help that player get a respectable OBP. I do have alot of players with lowish VR but very good contact and eye that do very well.

Yeah, I don't see anything wrong with that deal, especially given that bret is one of the parties involved.

The SS is good.  But not really under paid the next 2 years.
