Shtickless - Unless Being Dead Is A Shtick Topic

It's a high contract for someone who doesn't do one thing particularly well. He'll solidify the back of rlahann's lineup, but that's it. In the meantime bret can get a little pitching help and flexibility in future seasons.

Yeah, the list of all of you that I'd ever be all that interested in meeting isn't exceptionally long, but bret2775 is on it.
crap, do you want to punch me in the face like nuge does?  If so, I'll pass.
Who ever said I wanted to punch you in the face?  I'm a fan of yours bret.

I disagree. The Mets actually have a viable offense when he plays, and when he doesnt they basically play like their waiting to lose.  He has had a few down seasons, but when he plays normally, its very enjoyable.  Though granted, he may not have been the best example

I have $18.8 Million of dead weight in Kenny Powers that comes off the books in the next two seasons.

please give me the names of the pitchers bret is getting as I have already approved the deal.
The RP is bleh - might make the majors and be worth his salary pre-arb.
Ralph Plesac will be worth more than his salary his first 4 years in the majors.

I've got guys I can plug in at SS now while I wait for Peidra to ripen a little more.

He was initially just going to get the second one.

I would have given you a lolcount, but the "admit it!" thing brought this post down. Exclamation points are unsettling.

The fact that ******* off GD players hurts one's forum rep is absurd.
Annoying shtickless posters doesn't help it either, superguy.

Defense, *****. He's a five position talent bump in that regard.  Current SS improves third, third improves 2B, 2B moves to left field where he belongs, and left moves to and improves first. Current 1B vs. new SS is a marginal difference offensively.

I think you can allow some of the other factors (CN/PW/vL/vR) to come down if you have a high BE.  I may be wrong as I do very little analysis of HBD.
For sure.  High BE does a ton.

From what I can tell though, the primary factor affecting strikeouts from the PP's perspective is contact...  and except for inflating homerun numbers and working with ballpark factors, contact feels pretty useless to me.

Not moy's level of groundbreaking stuff, but a lot of owners really don't understand batting eye.  Probably more in other worlds I have been in over $ though.
I'd much rather have the ball hit in play than a strikeout, which is why I like a good contact number.
Don't start this bullshit again.

In hindsight, I think Bret just Bretted up the TC rather than Roarked it up...glad he was going to go through with it anyway, but tossing dude in was probably the right thing to do.
