Jay still playing, or has he started to drift away?
7/5/2010 5:55 AM
Jay makes moves. His fall this past season from finalist to out of the playoffs apparently came from not realizing he could go over the cap to re-sign his own guys. He cut his starting goalie, and two big scorers to stay under the cap unnecessarily.

I would be too. Biryukov is 16 years younger and over $5M cheaper.

$39.9M -(Wilber + Salmonsson) =  (Biryukov + Drenner)
Im going to hold on to Salmonsson. He has the potential to be a lot better.
to each their own, but that 63 stamina would bother me to death. That's why I singled him out.

that's pretty fair work Speedy. Now the trick will be to keep resigning them and keep them together, and sooner or later your payroll will be around $50M too.

But as I see it, that's the only way to end up with $50M worth of players. It's a rare day when you catch a fire sale like AJ had, and get Probie (Shurak) and me (iseli) both buying. Get a team together for <$35M, and as they grow up, they grow into a high-priced monster.

Yep. I pretty much knew this would be my last go-around in free agency, and if I wanted to keep up with the Jones',I'd need to knock it out of the park. No more free agency for me.
7/6/2010 4:29 PM
shurak was a bit of a dud this year
7/6/2010 5:07 PM
I have like 8 expiring contracts this coming season. If I play my cards right (ha ha- knowing me I have a better chance of marrying a hot actress), this next go around might be my last go around in free agency.
