Game 49: Both teams score three times in the first inning, but the visiting Blue Devils keep scoring while the Spectres go into a lull. Montreal eventually hits three home runs in the game, but all are solo shots, and KC wins 9-6.
Game 50: Ramon Hernandez hits a ninth-inning grand slam to cap a five-run rally that forces extra innings, but KC's bullpen oulasts the Spectres', with KC scoring in the 13th on Edgardo Alfonzo's error to win a 7-6 decision.
Game 51: The Spectres give another one away late, losing 5-4 in Atlanta when Paul Konerko snaps a tie game with a leadoff homer in the eighth. With men on the corners and one down, Montreal threatens in the ninth, but Greg Norton and Geoff Jenkins both strike out.
Game 52: Bret Boone hits two home runs and drives in five, but it's Jimmy Gobble who is the star of the day, pitching 7.1 scoreless innings after Aaron Cook is chased in the third; Montreal finally wins a game, 10-4.
Montreal will host Los Angeles next.
