At what point could someone sign my Type A free agent without sacrificing Type A compensation? Is it after the draft or after prospect lists are out?

Depends on if you need him. Doesn't sound like he's a hot commodity. But resigning him is the only way you'll get any sort of return.

Well, we're not going to the playoffs so it's hard to argue I "need" anything. However, he's still better than the guy who replaced him, so he would help. It's more a determination not to let someone else have something for "free", I think. You understand?

Perhaps. We'd have to call in deanod to get a decision on the use of "irony". He's an expert on it. And it's really the only thing he knows so it's like community service in that it makes him feel really smart.
