Vikings(9-1): old Favre v. Favre-wannabe Topic

Two years ago my team was 2-14. Let me know when things get that bad.

Well, if we continue to play like this on offense, we'll be 4-12, and that will be close enough for me.

Well, we dispatched the Cardinals while giving up 400 yds passing to Leinart. I suppose when you pass it 50+ times and only run it 6 times, you're bound to get 400 yds passing.

The Packers are God's present to football

Thank God for the Detroit Lions, the worst team in football (yes, worse than the Cardinals and Raiders).
The Vikings are still alive in the playoff hunt...at least, mathematically. The positive is that a lot of the other contenders for the Wild Card still have to play each other:
Philadephia at NY Giants - Week 15
Dallas at Atlanta - Week 15
Philadelphia at Dallas - Week 16
Carolina at Atlanta - Week 16
Atlanta at Philadelphia - Week 17

Boy, it's real difficult to tear up one of worst defenses in the entire NFL...

St.Louis is 8th in the league in pass defense, so there goes that. Also, you guys should know how tough it is to beat bad defenses, the Vikes scored a grand total of 3 points against the mighty 49ers.

ZING!

The bottom line is that Vikings run defense is great. But they have no pass rush, which makes their DB's look bad.
On offense, they have no go to WR, the RG and RT need to be fixed and we'll need an answer at QB for next year.
Other than that, things are going great.

Don't tell me you actually pay attention to the NFL rankings, which only takes into account YPG.

Through Week 12, St. Louis was 29th (according to Football Outsiders.com) in the NFL in pass defense...not 8th. The NFL rankings are skewed based upon YPG.

The fact that Philadelphia, who is only .1 YPG ahead of them had 70...check that again, 70 more passes thrown on them should tell you a lot. Plus, only Indianapolis and Oakland have had less passes thrown on them, yet they have given up 30 more YPG than both those teams.

ZING!

I love how the idiots around here conveniently overlook the fact that Rex played smart, heads-up football, didn't turn it over, and did all the right things.
Smarten up, buttheads...the kid is pretty good and is gonna get better.

YPA not YPG is the far far more important statistic.

I havent decided how I feel about FO yet.
