Thats like 3 weeks worth of taco bell

if it's worth owning no.......but how could you determine worth in a season or two? randomness is too large in HD as a whole for 1 or 2 seasons to know whether it makes a noticeable difference

No, but I would guess he would get more than 3X the people purchasing at $10 vs $30. And then if he makes it renewable every 6 months or so, he'll make more money that way.

See, now it would be a no way from ME if it were renewable and not a 1 time fee
3/26/2008 11:15 AM
For the majority, renewable would be a much better way to sell this product. Even if it were $10 every six months, thats less than $2 a month and I'm sure most wouldn't even think about that.

Same reason there are probably a lot of people who purchase one season at a time instead of a 10-pack up front.

I'm not sure I understand this reasoning. From the description here, this tool does not seem like something that's going to help from season to season. In other words, it's got nothing that will help you recruit a particular player better or plan for a particular game better.

What it might do is help you understand the game better. What makes a good player? What ratings are good for a D1/D3 PF? What makes a good practice plan? This is knowledge that someone typically gains through experience and investigation. It sounds like this tool can speed up the process for you. I think a one-time fee is the right pricing structure, because after you use it to increase your understanding of the game (presumably), it's value decreases beyond the "fun" of using it ongoing. If it has tracking features, I could see some coaches who have 25 teams finding value in it, but if you only have a a couple teams, it's pretty damn simple to do that in Excel.

Two week promotion announced!

(Details at www.hd-oracle.com)
3/27/2008 1:33 PM
still about 5-10 bucks too much in my estimation.
3/27/2008 4:02 PM
Even better, 20 bucks one time and you can try it out for a week, seems like a no brainer
3/27/2008 6:28 PM
twenty bucks is definately more doable. Not sure why it seems like such a big difference, but it is to me.

elmore - my hat's off to you and good luck with your new venture. i appreciate your responsiveness to those coaches who were genuinely interested in the product, as evidenced by their questions. and on the same token, i agree that some of the criticisms were unnecessary and uncalled for, in tone and substance (i.e., the repeated "what about player potential?" "$30 is too much"). if someone was really concerned about player potential, perhaps they should have asked how your program can or will be different than player potential. from your posts, i gather that your program can simulate the different practice plans to actually achieve the potential, whereas without it, the coach - while knowing what the potential is, is flying blind to get there. as for the $30 is too expensive whine, shame on you coaches. if it was too expensive and you wanted to help elmore, send him a sitemail instead of posting it in the forum. there is nothing constructive about raising a pitchfork, especially if you appreciate, at the very least, the innovation and entrepnaurship that elmore's shown.

oh, and add to the list of uncalled for criticisms, the whiners that this is a violation of WIS policy. you're worried about that and concerned for him? send elmore an email - its conveniently listed on the oracle website.

less see,,, Elmo works for months on a project to help him play a game he loves to play but due to some of his friends whuppin his butt all the time in his conference he can't seem to win many more games than he loses. He then decideds to share his ideas with some of his friends,,, who think their pretty damn kool! After much prodding by said friends he decideds to try to make an actual product that anyone might be able to use to possibly enhance their enjoyment of the game know as HD. He spends much time talking to WIS just to be ABSOULTELY POSETIVE their feathers aren't going to be ruffeled by the entire thing and they give it their blessing. He then makes one horrible mistake.... he decides to try to charge actual money for his months of labor in creating this lil item...... Then is subjected to the same 15 whinebags who spend their every waking minute on here ******** about the FCP and the -5 and whatever someone used as a term to describe trying to beat another out of 50cents. LOL... you giuys make me wanna PUKE! If ya don't want it? who cares? If you do... talk to Elmo and he will be incredibly accomatating. If he gave it to ya free you'd ***** ,,, at least this way he gets a little something for listening to the whine.
And Elmo,,,, quit trying to defend yourself,,,, You don't owe these guys anything. If someone has a legit question, I'd address it, otherwise don't waste your time. They'll just depress ya and make you a grouchy ol fart like me
then the next thing ya know you will be skipping 2-3 games at a time and not game-planning and losing games to........ yes, sorry programs like Elms College... what a sad day.

Thank you Mizzou for vocalizing the opinions that many on HD have! Keep up the good work Elmo!
