Flames Thread: Scoring is overrated Topic

I dont know where my fellow Canuck fans think Luongo is going to stone the Flames? I havent seen anything other than a below average goalie so far..i hope im wrong? just like i was wrong about the word" perimeter" i always thought it meant from the outside? thx Nickhead now i know it means from 10 feet and in...you learn something new each day...

I saw Fleury on "off the record" why does he refer to Roman Hamrlik as a Gutless puke? they were teamates werent they?

well, the good news is that we beat the canucks again. the bad news is that the flames let up in the third. and i'm not talking about when they started letting goals in and got some chincy penalties. at the end of the second, the flames were still pressing.

starting in the third, they just sat back on the lead. and yes, it was a five goal lead, and the canucks weren't able to come back, but first off, they made it close, and if burrows hadn't have taken that stupid penalty (i don't think he did it on purpose, but rather just wasn't aware of how close to the net he was), then who knows what could have happened.

i'm of the old oilers mentality. doesn't matter what the score is, 1-0, 5-0, 10-0, you keep your foot on their throat and try for another. we shouldn't be giving any team a chance to get back in a game, and we definitely don't want to give the canucks anything positive coming out of the game, as we have a bunch more to play them. we'd rather have them thinking that we have their number going into the next one. now their just thinking that even if they get down early in the next one, they can still come back. :>

still, when it comes down to it, we got another two points from our division rivals, and as both the flames and the canucks can attest to over the last few years, two points can make a world of difference at the end of the season. :>

I think..if i remember correctly... Hamrlik crosschecked him or something in one of those Country Tourneys.

Even though he is playing for the Rangers, is a big-name star and has a history of strange behavior, Theo Fleury still isn't getting much attention these days. And that is amazing. His past few seasons have been absolutely bizarre, and the trend doesn't show any signs of changing.
On Monday night, the Rangers and Islanders met in what is becoming a great rivalry once again. All eyes were focused on Fleury because he figured to have payback on his mind following what happened in the Olympics. Rewind to the Canada-Czech Republic game that ended in a 4-4 tie. In that game, Roman Hamrlik nailed Fleury with a vicious crosscheck in front of the Czech goal. Although Fleury promised he wasn't seeking retaliation, he went after Hamrlik five minutes into Monday's game and was penalized -- this after he was sent to the box in the first minute of the game for roughing up Steve Webb. Later in the game, Webb leveled Fleury with a clean check that will go down as one of the season's best. It seems Fleury makes enemies everywhere he goes these days.

there was no threat of a comeback that game was done at 3-0 ,Canucks sucked they couldnt do ****,the 3 goals made it look close to those that didnt see it,Calgary is much superior team right now, thats hard for me to say,but its obvious...VCR is struggling with the Wild Tonite...its pathetic the ONLY positive is Rypien shitkicking Prust
