Wait so they took it out all together or they just toned it down? I have been away for a while and most things stay the same but certain little things change.

There's nothing more to say...people can see zhawks for what he really is, but I think its ironic that a completely different user is contesting zhawks virtually the same way I did and getting the same results.
And your favorite word is "Boob" what of it?
Please lets not ruin this thread too.

I apologize, you are, of course, right.

I have an opinion - no fact - I think players do not wear out playing defense vs tempo, they do wear out, but they wear out due to playing their own offense - only tarek (and maybe seble or the paid programmers if they have gotten that far in replicating code) would know when / if / how much the change was, my stance is strictly observation and opinion - but I also play eleven teams who average in the mid 80's team total for stamina, and I have tried uptempo, as recently as last week for a 5 game stretch - IMO it has no affect on the other team, but does wear your own team down nicely

Maybe if we ignore him he'll go away from the rest of our threads?

OR I do believe it still does tire them out but it is very minimal compared to the past.

yes, but the'tiredness' to your own uptempo team is not so minimal Z & all teams wear out, how do you (we) know if this is due to normal offense wearing out or due to defending the up tempo???

I might run a few controlled experiments, I have several very good candidates, that running uptempo should (*used to) kill my opponents.

OR, this sounds like a good thing to look into during beta testing (maybe?).

I think it is hard to notice at times but I see my teams play even in the first half lots of times and then break out with 10-12 minutes and win by 15-20 when the other team starts to tire, might be coincidence, I'll keep better track of it and see what I find.

OR - while I will agree that uptempo does not wear out your opponent I question the impact of my own teams wearing out.

If your definition of wearing out = playing must sub in and out often to stay fresh, then I would agree.

If your definition of wearing out = players frequesntly play while tired and very tired, then I would disagree.

When my sub patterns are set at fairly fresh, my players very rarely stay in while tired. As I stated earlier, IMO the uptempo just causes more dead ball substitutions. But these are just my opinions.

I was actually thinking of all your teams when I said the part, even if they are winning, as many of your teams run uptempo, often though do you not run normal when you are in a fair fight????? I should know, as we have played a bunch lately and you have won them all maybe, but I usually don't even look at the settings

If I am right, which I might not be, I can only imagine how much you would win by, assuming you are giving 5 points a game back to all of us when you go uptempo???
12/28/2009 12:37 PM
also lost, if ANY team could go uptempo and get away with it like the old days, it would be yours, as sometimes you play with 8 or 9 players in the 90's ath and / or sp and / or stam - most of us can only dream of recruiting those guys - i sure don't know how as I usually have to pay 50k to get one such guy, I have no idea how you do it

I can't even remember the last time I ran a normal tempo as the base setting. Maybe 100 HD seasons ago? I only run slowdown or uptempo.

I highly doubt that I'm giving up 5 points a game by playing uptempo. But let's assume that I was, it could still be possible that uptempo is the best tempo, since all that matters (especially in the postseason) is that you score more points than your opponent, not the margin of victory. Uptempo undoubtedly reduces the variability of a game, so the % of victory could be higher there even while giving up, on average, more points.

I agree with lost, that has always been my view.

Also, I run Uptempo with a FCP because that increases possessions which increases steals/forced turnovers which should increase my fast-break points.
