When voting for HOF, it would be nice to know if a guy is 8th all time in HR's or 28th.
MAKE IT SO!

I've started some research into my leagues, and having just FIVE names makes it really difficult.

Do playoff stats have any impact on auto/owner nominations?

Oh, and Hawk Walker has NO chance of being in the first class of Ruth HOFers.

One 20-win season, only 131 wins, 1620 IP. Sheesh, you might as well nominate Ron Guidry...

Only regular season stats are used.

it's not just his record. he was the first max contract and THE iconic player. he also won 22 post-season games.

In our Summer of 49 world it looks like there would be about 15 nominees thru 13 seasons of play...combined with owner nominations you're looking at a maximum of 79 players on this ballot (note - i know 300 was probably an exaggeration, just wanted to give an example of what to look for)

the ballot would be cluttered at the beginning and really thin out in a years following, thats ok with me

Not in the first class. There are FOUR 200-game winners that should be put in way ahead of him. Each of them has comparable awards to Hawk, but did it for much longer. Hawk had five seasons with 15+ wins, Hanley Decker had 11, Ted Walsh had 10, Russ Maurer had 9.

Donnie Brown is in for sure.

How will it be determined which franchise a player will represent in the HOF?

I recall from a long-ago developer chat that players would go in wearing the cap of the last franchise they played for, which I think is a terrible idea. If it's too hard for the programming to determine which team the player enjoyed his best seasons, then it should at least be the team he played for longest.

It's the franchise that he played the most seasons for in his career.

Works for me.

... but what about possible tie-breakers?

What about the first tie-breaker being post-season appearances/success?

I would think that the first tiebreaker would be relative success at some key stats
