Draft Board Updated

" Bravo to ronthegenius who has made the first ***** move of the draft by snagging the only eligible Nap Lajoie Season as a Primary 1B (with a .366 avg I might add) to knock him off the board for round 4 at 2B."

I love the Randy Johnson pick as well. One of the best LH SP now gone. And the Vida Blue, Stan Musial, and Babe Adams picks will end up annoying people as well

Since I'm not able to pick until sometime after 2 a.m. for rounds 2 and 3, I'm just having fun watching.
Until, of course, I realize that I'm going to have to pick from the slop that's . And I thought I was lucky by getting the first overall pick. Ha ha.

Yes, yes, right after I sent that I thought that the Randy Johnson pick deserved to be noted. I also like the Stan Musial pick. I almost took Stan and then scooped up a 1B in the 25th round. I have had too much luck with Sisler though, especially in Jefferson Street Grounds.

I almost took Sisler or Musial at 1B - both fit well in my park and I like high avg guys. But I decided to seize upon my only chance at a big HR guy in Big Mac. Now I need him to produce. I won't be happy with anything less than 50 HR.

At this cap, and with the pitching we'll have, I'd like to put a bet in the "Under" line.

He's still a very solid pick, and will hit a ton of doubles, but I think you're going to be very disappointed if you are relying on him for 50+ HR.

Just a note on the cap. My guess is that this league will play more like 120mil. I leave the 160mil as some guys like to take a flyer in the pitching rounds on 700IP guys. For the most part though, the Bench and RP rounds force you to take relatively inexpensive guys. Some draft leagues you wind up with 9mil bench players, not here. ANd I agree that counting on 50+ HRs from anyone in the Sim is a tall order.

I believe Mac will probably hit < .250 but I still hope the HRs will come and the OBP should be decent. We'll see. It is a different direction than I normally take. Sisler would have been my routine choice in that spot.
