OT-Nebraska to Big Ten Topic

how come no one talks about taking a Boise St instead of Baylor? Who needs Baylor when you already have the other 3 Texas schools. Why shouldn't Boise St get an invite, they deserve it. - There won't be a Big 12 or a Big East, at least not a BCS conferences. The 4 new super conferences will leave the NCAA and just play their own championship tourney using the Bowls.

Boise State offers a quality football program.

Nothing else.

That being said... Baylor isn't going anywhere, either. They only got into the Big 12 because the top 2 people were Baylor Grads in government back when they got in.

So it appears that when these pieces truly start shaking, everyone will go back to talking Big 10 again soon. We are hoping that Syracuse ends up in the Big 10, not because we can't wait for that Iowa game every year, but because without the money, nothing else matters...apparently at least one SU Hoops star is really looking forward to the switch [not] "looks like where going to the boring *** BIG TEN"

But this is all about football, right? That's where all the money comes from. They have to contribute more than Baylor does...

Can we stop calling it the PAC-16 and instead refer to it as the 16-PAC.

It sounds less ominous and sinister if you make it sound like an alcoholic beverage container.

I've never understood what Syracuse would bring to the Big 10. Yeah, the basketball program is great, but the football program sucks and it wouldn't bring the NYC market. The only reason to take Syracuse to is to bring about the end of the Big East to get Notre Dame. Even then, Pitt or Rutgers would probably be better pick-ups.

My brother texted me the same thing. I'd rather have Utah over boise. Boise brings a solid football team, and I think for a few seasons would bring the market to see how they could really last in a big conf, but that hype would die down. It is exciting to see a small conf school play the big boys, but once they move up they are just another big conf schools in the publics eye. Boise vrs USC/Oregon etc would lose the sexy it has now.

Yeah, Syracuse is in a very tenuous position. It wouldn't surprise me if they end up getting out of a BCS conference altogether when all is said and done.

If that happens Notre Dame will follow Texas joining and there will be 1 more spot to turn the Big 10 into 16 (including Nebraska and A&M). My guess to the last school? Virginia.

And where did you pull that out of
a lot of rumors and speculation on rivals. This one seems to be really getting some legs since the Kansas City news report.
