OK... TOTAL CRAPSHOOT of a game between 2 truly sucky expansion Mets teams is a Barnburner to the last out.
Great Game delta, could have gone either way. Flip a coin, lol.
1963 Mets & Roger Craig (toddleduc) beat the 1962 Mets & Jay Hooks (deltagofers) 6-5.
Delta & the '62 Mets were beating toddleduc & the '63 Mets 3-2 with the bases loaded & 2 touts in the bottom of the 8th when PH Joe Hicks took his (.226) average and 5 HR's up to the plate & hits a granny to take a 6-3 lead.
In the top of the 9th '52 Mets scored 2 runs to bring the game to 6-5. '62 Mets had 2nd & 3rd with 2 outs when Richie Ashburn (.306) with Frank Thomas on deck (.266 36 HR's) grounded out to end the game. Almost walked Ashburn- but rolled the dice.
