dynasty_ob - this was in response to your post. I forgot to quote it and now can't seem to get it edited into this post.
And the new guys (I can't be counted out of that category as I only had 11 seasons) only seem to want the "old-timers" to hand them the answers. Do you even realize or did you even bother to think about the fact that those guys actually have hundreds and hundreds of seasons in the game and have spent countless hours looking at numbers to figure things out.
Your post makes it seem like you are mad because those guys had information that wasn't handed to you on a silver platter. Well guess what, it wasn't handed to them either. They spent their hard-earned money figuring it out instead of whining.
Honestly, they aren't whining because they might have to figure out a new engine.
They are pi$$ed (as everyone should be) because there are teams that have been abandoned by coaches for several seasons that are on the verge of making the national championship game. They are pi$$ed because there are human coached teams with core stats 20-30 points higher than the sims they are playing and being destroyed by those sims. They are pi$$ed because the upset rate is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too high.
Most everyone of these players would have accepted this sim (without too much whining) if the damn thing even came close to what it was supposed to be doing.
Not one of these guys would have complained if they had to start practicing formations. In fact, if you read the boards, you would understand that most of them at the DI level did, in fact, practice formations. It was the coaches at the lower levels that did not because at the lower level, player core stat growth had been proven to be of a higher value than formation practice.
This information wasn't hidden from you or anyone else. I found this information by reading the boards and asking questions and sitemailing the elite coaches. In fact, most of the elite coaches will share at least some of their knowledge. If you talk to enough of them, it's not real hard to put the puzzle together.
If you were trying to figure it out on your own without asking, then I applaud you, but do not hold it against the long-time coaches because they knew the nuances of the game.
Most of them earned it.
