Why Antonsirius is a piece of human garbage! Topic

I found it amusing that swamp's post accidentally supported anton's point.

Relating to the subject, here's for an excerpt from Stephen Fry's aptly named book, The Liar

" 'Donald has been called a criminal,' Adrian went on, warming to his theme. 'If I run down the street to catch a bus, does that make me an athlete? If you yodel in the bath, Master, does that make you a singer? Dr Menzies has a tongue like a supermarket pricing-gun.' "

You seriously care more about whether the words you use are "mainstream" than whether they are clear and effective.

You're damaged, swamp. Hopelessly, irreparably damaged.
I was watching CNN a long time ago. They were interviewing a man from Central Africa who spoke english. It was a little choppy so the captioned him in english, even though I understood him. The next story was about them ending home dairy delivery in Wales. They interviewed a person from South Wales who spoke english and although I literally could not understand a word they didnt caption him.

Language isnt like math or science. It is very much Mainstream is understood.

Why wouldnt you know this? Or is it possible you just needed a new barb and you were not too careful about the facts??

By the way, you poor pathetic waste of oxygen, Britney Spears is a singer by everything I've posted in this thread. She sings for a ******* living, and she's been singing for years. You're so ignorant you can't even come up with a decent example to mock me with.

Here, try this one on the 100 voices in the mall in your head:

Oliver North is a criminal;
versus Oliver North was convicted of crimes related to the Iran-Contra scandal.

Which one do you think they'll agree with? And which one is more accurate?
Ollie is a bad example becuae of the time issue.

How about Scott Peterson is a murderer?

Oliver North is not a bad example at all, you pathetic coward. Answer the question. Which statement is more "mainstream"? And which one is more accurate?

Actually, never mind. Everyone knows you know the answer already. You just won't say it because it doesn't support your argument.

You have become completely incoherent. "It is very much Mainstream is understood." WTF is that supposed to mean?

That's the one thing you have in common with swamp. Neither of you has a clue wtf swamp is talking about.

Let me make it a little clearer.

Mainstream speech patterns are what are understood. A person from 1921 would seem odd when talking to us. It would be hard for them to talk. Same languge but a lot of phrases and saying would mean nothing to each other.

Mainstream means how most of us speak. It is what we understand.

If you claim that an obscure linguistic theory is correct, but no one uses it, you should never be outraged if people do not understand what you are talking about.

Wrong.
6/7/2011 5:27 PM
Right!

And since I used an exclamation point my statement carries more weight.

Why do I know that?

"And since I used an exclamation point my statement carries more weight."

The sad part is you actually seem to believe that. Again we see your tendency to use exclamation points to try to make arguments your logic cannot.

Why are you so terrified of being better understood when you talk?
6/7/2011 5:50 PM
This is again a side issue that you decided was very important.

You invent new ways of speaking, new definitions to words and then seem to be angered when someone acts like the majority of Ameircans.

You are an odd person and interacting with you is hard until you put out and Anton to Americans Rosetta stone!
6/7/2011 7:08 PM
Number of lies in the preceding post: 3

1) I didn't invent anything. I clearly credited where the ideas I'm presenting to you here came from.

2) I didn't present any new definitions of words, unless you think I write dictionaries on the side.

3) I'm not angered that someone "acts like the majority of Americans".

All of those are blatant lies that are attempts to attack my character. In fact, you might say that the kind of person who would lie like that is "human garbage".

You completely avoided answering the question though, so clearly you are terrified of being better understood. You know you're usually trying to talk to people smarter than you, and that your ideas don't always hold water, so you hide behind being the clumsy plain-speaking "real American". And then when anybody calls you on your pitiful spelling or grammar or use of language or illogic, it's just one more point of evidence that they aren't a "real American" and are instead a "cocktail party elite ivory tower liberal."

It's a mask, swamp. It's just another lie. You know those 100 random people in a mall you love so much, swamp? About 80 of them would think you sound like an idiot when you talk.
6/7/2011 10:29 PM
It's also one of Sarah Palin's go-to tactics, come to think of it, which is probably why you worship her.

The difference is, she actually has charisma and likeability and can get away with it. You have neither, and can't.
6/7/2011 10:33 PM
I dont think I am talking to smarter people. This is just you lumping all Conservatives together as stupid. I answered the question, I just didnt say what you wanted.

Your theory about me is based on your illogical vision of me. I define you when you make crazy points.

And if the 100 people in the mall heard your crazed anti-mainstream banter I am pretty sure they would grow to like me pretty quick. Once you explain to them why they talk wrong and look at the world wrong they are going to just love you to pieces!
