Doesn't have to be a bad deal for him to be a bad deal.    I assume his goal is to win the AL.   In order to do that, he'll have to beat the guy who keeps winning the AL.   Any idea who that might be?
Meh, it's not like basketball where you have no shot against a megateam.  I think from the perspective of a .500 team you just gotta improve where you can and hope to get lucky in the playoffs.

ffs every playoff series went to the decisive game for me last year and I started off 24-18 this season, with a huge % of those games coming against **** teams.  It's not like my team is invincible, we're just a little bit better than everyone else and way luckier.
If you're trying to make death feel better, just stop.  He won't be around long enough to worry with.

He's a bitter, bitter man today.

I disagree with mike about the death trade and in this specific instance he is sort of talking out of both sides of his mouth (which is unusual) for mike. Death isn't competing with Deano this season or really probably next. He is competing, like me against the MWR. If death doesn't make trades like that he is more likely to be a victim of the MWR. in which case Mike would complain about Death playing too much for the future.

Seems to me Death got something that will help him short term and gave up nothing that will hurt him long term. A good trade for someone in his position. I don't think Death or I have the luxury of dealing only into other owners strengths.

Mike likes to beat on me. It's a favourite pasttime of his.

I knew deano wanted the next season cap space or avoid a buyout. Either way, the current player and the prospect were needed by me. Period.

mr nauseous' sentiment, while valid, wasn't the main reason for the deal. I'm better now? Yes. I'm better later? Probably. I'm not worse. Can I win the division? Possibly. It's a weak division, and if I get in, I have a chance.

Someone once said you only need to go 14-10 to win a championship. I forget who. Some dumbass, probably.

First, there's not talking out of both sides of my mouth.  Second, there are 30 other owners in the world besides deano and death.  It's not like he HAD to give deano future cap space to get an aging 1B Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Jimmie Aquino.   Third, he immediately waived Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Vic Mercado after acquiring Aquino.   Is it just me or are they going to produce almost the same results?   For the hell of it, let's say Aquino is better.  1 extra win over the course of the season?   Kudos for wanting the extra win, bad on you for giving the guy who owns the AL his extra cap space.

OK, I'll be fair.  Ran them both thru my OPS-O-Meter.  VR they're the same guy but Aquino is quite a bit better VL.

So make up your mind.

Because it seems to depend on which way the wind is blowing whether you want people to win, or not win, or play for now, or play for the future, or both.

Let's assume your "one win" is correct. I win my division by one game, and I expect a sitemail with your apology? Pfff. You're unable to unbunch your panties because someone has owned one of your leagues, which you thought was undoable. You used to be all over Happy Jack for it, and now it's happened to MG.

Doesn't make the league any worse. Relax. I was comfortable with the deal from all angles, including moral ones, and others seem to be too.
12/1/2011 9:58 PM
You'll get a public apology if you make the MWR by one game or the playoffs by one game.

The fact that deano is owning the AL isn't an issue for me.   One owner has always owned the AL.   I believe it was crappydiem before him.  I've always said the AL was full of drooling morons.  You fit in well.    The NL just has one series to beat him.   I guess I'd like it if the AL owners weren't so busy worrying with their one extra win and started trying to figure out how to beat your master instead of helping him.
12/1/2011 10:07 PM
Of course, judging by the way you just got owned in trade by a NL owner, you're probably better off containing your dumbassery to the AL.   Screw up one league with your stupid trades.

He's a bitter, bitter man today.

Dude, once mike declares something, that's the end of it. Doesn't matter if every other owner thought it was fair.
MIKE SAID NO!!
Move along or argue for 700 pages, it will end with the same result.
