The Doomsday Tournament: Round 3 - League 3 DONE Topic

NL West and AL West have 4 assigned teams--no draft.

other 4 divisions break down into (4) 4-man drafts once division is filled (no need to wait for anyone outside your division); 1 team per group

EX. I picked Browns/Os--I picked 1966 (group1) and 1996 (group 4) so my next 2 picks must be from group 1 (02, 08, 22, 44 Browns) and group 3 (73, 74, 79, 83 O's) . I picked a 2nd team because round 2 is reverse order.

You were left with Sens/Rangers, so you have the 4 assigned teams to choose roster from, no draft.

Well, I don't see why the 1-24, 24-1, etc. was put in there if I was going to get stuck with the last teams available.  Sets up for a pretty lop-sided draft.  If this is the case, I'm out.  Pretty pointless imo.

I'm still not understanding how everybody has 4 teams already if there was a 1-24. 24-1. 1-24, 24-1 draft style going on here

Between the combination of the first 23 picks and the special situation for the expansion franchises, the only choice left for fwcinmo was the Senators/Rangers, wihch get all 4 of their seasons at once.  Once there were 4 teams in the East and Central divisions, there was no reason for them to wait for other picks.  If fwcinmo had shown up a little earlier, he would have had all 4 of his teams before a lot of the East and Central owners.

Just a consequence of having the 24th of 24 picks, and an expansion franchise being left to the end.

You know, hindsight being what it is, I could have worded things a lot better when I set all of this up.  Did the draft go 1-24, 24-1, 24-1 and 1-24?  Not really, but that was the easiest way to try and describe what the draft order was going to be for all six divisions.  Bad choice of words on my part.  Once all 24 teams were taken, as JAMESA said, it broke down into separate divisional drafts for the four owners of each division.  N.L. West and A.L. West didn't need drafts as their four teams were already posted.  Before the first round got to pick 24 (your pick), several of the other divisions started their divisional drafting (Rounds 2 and 3).  That's why the board looked so lopsided by the time you made your pick.  Now that I think about it, there really wasn't even a fourth round of drafting.  Once Round 3 is completed in the divisional drafts, everyone knows who their fourth team is and there's no need to make any other picks.

Again, it's one of those things that I learn by my mistakes.  Hopefully the next time I attempt something like this, I'll word it a bit more clearly.  I hope you don't drop out of here FWCINMO but if you feel like you must, then that's fine - no hard feelings on my part.  I'd rather like to see you stay though...
