So help me if I know. I had first typed in another player's name and then deleted, then I typed in another guy's name and deleted that. Then some mysterious force made me type in Russell's name and submit the post before I could come to my senses.
Honestly, the handful of players remaining whom I think are both worthy of the first round and should be cornerstones for a good team are players I've already used in this league and not done particularly well with. My choice was to try again with one of them, or reach for a different sort of player and just have fun trying to build around him. In objective terms I think it was a bit early for Russell. Forty-four or so minutes of a combined creb% of 40 is nothing to sneeze at, and he plays a pretty clean game. Other than that, he doesn't give me a lot and his low efg% means I'm starting out with a hole I have to fill. So I'll come out of the blocks early saying I'm already not in the running to contend for the title this season. But the rest of the draft should make for a good game, figuring out how pick a cast of characters to run with him that might at least challenge for a playoff spot.
