Can you guys get a room? ;0)
Can you ever get a draft slot lower than 9? :)
I'd love an end of the order draft slot! I seem to have the same exact slot every time.
Really? so far you've picked at 1 (to be fair, we forced you to take Ruth), 5, 4, 9 and now 8. If you'd love an end of the round slot,, how about now? I'm at #23. I'll swap all my picks for all of yours starting in the third round.

It won't be the full experience because you'll still have Lajoie (unless you want to trade him for Brett) but you'll get the quick turn-around picks.

Now that is some serious research! Or have you just been thinking about me a lot? And yes, I think there's a drop off that happens midway thorough round 2. But maybe it's just a case of "grass is greener".

I'm getting jealous. :)

Through 4 seasons the WS winners have drafted in the 3, 5, 20, 24 spots, seems to me the closer you are to the middle the tougher the league has been. Although the WS losers have come from the 17 (twice), 16, and the 20.

Not to worry ej, I'm watching you too. The draft has come a long way since you could get Pete Alexander at #19.

Yeah I think the practice of giving volunteers he 24th slot ought to be suspended.

I'm just hoping voluntarily switching spots will do the trick instead.....

I agree. I understand wanting to facilitate someone's schedule, but if being at the ends of the draft is an advantage, then it should be available to everyone. If there is a schedule issue, do what SouthHeat did and swap with someone after the positions are assigned. iasfani didn't get a break this time. Every other pick is scheduled for 2:30 AM

BTW, no offense ej. You followed the norm in place up until now and got the slot assigned. All we ask is that you don't take advantage by making it into the playoffs:)

Did I trade out of the most coveted draft position (17) ??? Oh well, I guess this proves I'm not superstitous though.
1/28/2017 12:32 PM
No offense taken. I dont see it as an advantage, and if it is lord knows i can screw it up. Just hoped/needed to get a slot that could accomodate an onerous trial schedule. and btw, we had one winner from that slot. Not exactly an overwhelming body of work from which to conclude that it is an advantage.
