Resource allotment. This is going to sound spud-like but you spread yourself thin. I'm not saying it wasn't bad luck but, maybe if you were 80/80/33 on those three, maybe you win 2. Hell, maybe you win all three. 53/47 or 33/33/34 seems like a crapshoot either way.

But the point remains. This has been the game for a year. You know this. You have a run of bad luck and now you're all pouty.
I had, 5 schollies : 120 ap. Brought a developmental project in, so keeping over 40 wasthe righr choice. People did not have better efforts because they were spread out, but luck changed it all. Why is there worse strategy than mine working? Luck. I think we have to agree to disagree. And I had opened plan B and C, in case I saw someone come agressively on one or many of my three targets but no, I was well in advance and I knew it. So I spent the resources, they went wirh desperate decisions and the poor system rewarded them. It's like running the 100 meters, two are on the picture so close to call and the orher one is not even in sight, maybe one his finger, the judge goes, three in the picture : let's roll to see who won. That's what our recruiting system is.
SWEET!!! Analogy time!!

Or it's like 3 runners at the start line. 2 are Olympic hopefuls and the other guy won the local 100 meter race one time a couple of years ago. The gun goes off and the two Olympic hopefuls stumble. Other guy wins even though the oddsmakers gave him a 15% chance of winning.

Or you're the NE Patriots and have a game on lockdown. Then Manning flings one up and some unknown WR catches it off his helmet. WTF?

When there is a competition, the best doesn't always win. You are COMPETING for recruits.

But the point remains. This has been the game for a year. You know this. You have a run of bad luck and now you're all pouty.

In zorzi's world, all the 1 seeds are in the Final Four every year.

Screw you, Valvano!!! Houston won that game!!!!!
9/28/2017 12:01 PM
Why are you celebrating, App State? Michigan won!!!!!

Mike : why talking to you is always about insults?
9/28/2017 12:44 PM
I'm not really insulting you. At least not intentionally. But you either don't understand that the game has been the same for the last year, you don't understand percentages, or you don't understand that recruiting is competition and the expected winner does not always win in competition.

Or, if you do understand all of these things, you don't comment/complain until it directly affects you. And that's whining. At least with the EE guys, they're constant. Maybe their programs are decimated every season(not really but maybe that's what they think) and they complain every season. Surely you understand how that's unlike you.

It's like the WE thing. beachhouse posted that he did it. Everyone pretty much ignored it. thewizard17 did it and you created a shitstorm. The difference? thewiz was in your world in your conference.

Just my opinion, but I thought 3.0 was going to eliminate the power a A+ team has over a C+ team?

I've seen anything but that. A+ team still wins every close competition I have seen.

Why even have prestige if an A+ team doesn't have an advantage over a C+ team ??

Talk about participation trophies!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please tell me A+ has an advantage over C+. That's it's just not as substantial as it once was.

If not, I've been thinking wrong for 11 months.

Yeah, yeah, I know. But I'm specifically talking about prestige.

Huh?

A+ does have a huge advantage over C+. If all effort and promises are equal, the C+ will need a better preference match just to get in signing range. Even if they get in signing range, the recruit will pick the A+ team 75-80% of the time. *If effort and promises are equal*. If effort and promises weren't equal, then it's an issue of prioritization, not prestige.

It is even more complex if you consider the timing of the effort and promises make a difference as well. We tend to lose focus of that when we get into these discussions.

I lost a recruit at Florida St (A prestige) to Florida (C prestige) in the most recent cycle in Smith with a 72/28 advantage. But you just have to realize that will happen from time to time. Think of these fake sim players as 18 year old kids who do stupid stuff and make bad decisions sometimes.

As a C+ prestige, going all in on a top 50 player is really difficult. A+ can come along on day 2 and still easily bump you down to Moderate without you ever getting back up.

I know it is part of the game, and it's the same complaint as 2.0, but if A+ wants, A+ gets.
