I don't get a lot of top 5 draft picks, but I actually have one now. Regardless of needs, what do you like to target with a top 5 pick if SP is pretty much out of the question, no good ones who will sign? Is a closer, and likely best overall pitcher on the board, worth it? We're talking 100+ inning guy. One of those SS who can hit according to ratings but might end up becoming a 3B instead but is rated the highest by WIS rankings? a 1B beast of a hitter who isn't rated as highly overall but is clearly the best hitter in the draft?
My personal draft board, best hitters go to the top, doubly so for those who can play a premium fielding position.

1B would be a guy who would hit OPS of .900 - 1.000. the SS would be a below average SS but would hit close to .800 - .850 OPS. The SS I have ranked as the #7 hitter in the draft. The 1B is the guy to who I was referencing earlier regarding low health but is by far the best hitter available.

My team has above average fielders all around the infield and a fair amount of groundball-heavy pitchers. Why am I dead last by a wide margin in double plays? Sample size or is there something I'm missing? I had worse fielders last seasons and was middle of the pack in twin killings.
Your pitchers' OBA is .312... just not very many baserunners on to double up. Also,in the 18 (of 66) games where you used Albert Mercado at 2B, he's not a very good fielder. But that's a lesser cause.

Thanks dedelman. I knew that the first month of the season, before I called up my new rangy 2B, was part of the reason. But I've been stuck in last without making up much ground since, and I see other teams with even lower OBP from their pitchers lapping me. We're winning, so I guess it's fine. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't some other explanation that hadn't occurred to me.

If you're not getting double plays because you're not letting baserunners get on, I think you're doing alright.

Do the last coaches sign at 11am or 3pm (approx)?

I think MikeT is lurking somewhere under a different user name. What do you think?

I think you've just outed yourself as an alias, MikeTlowster23. :)

Seriously? The nature of an internet social game is that none of us knows who any of us really are, aliases and all. So certainly that is possible, and I don't think I can speculate on it intelligently.

Hell, on the internet anything's possible; for all you know, literally everyone else on this site besides you is a MikeT23 alias.

Not in this forum.

1) With his ego you think he couldn't just sit by and not let people know that he has returned under a different name?

2) You think he would not step in with all the bad advice we are giving out.

3) You think he wouldn't have already started a fight with PJ foster?

#3 is key. PJFoster has made too many posts. If MikeT was hanging around, we would know it.

I think you're all dancing around the obvious thing: MikeT *is* PJFoster, and has been all along.

I have several questions about someone who would want to argue with themselves in an online forum under different personalities with different opinions.

What was that movie with James MacAvoy where he thought he was 15 different people?

Player Profile: Benj Diaz - Hardball Dynasty Baseball | WhatIfSports was injured last last season and effectively ended my chances at a WS, although we miraculously made the NLCS. Elbow Surgery. He was on the 60 day DL last season and in the last year of his contract. I let him walk and then signed him again this season for $2MM less than he was asking last season. He has since come off the DL and is 19 days away from being healthy, plenty of time to get a full season in the books. If I put him on the 60 day DL now will he get the injury boost?

He will get some of it back.
