I like Nance more than you, Robusk. His 91-92 season is a beast, with remarkably low turnovers for his usage tier and remarkably low fouls for a guy with 100 defense. Plus good rebounding for a SF, solid efg% and FT%, decent assists and a ton of blocks. I think he's a no-brainer 3rd round pick at this cap.

I think that is generally the consensus... for me it comes down to 1) I think there are a lot of players with a similar profile... maybe the D is a little worse but otherwise pretty close and 2) I have a much stronger aversion to heavy midrange players than almost any other owner who participates in these leagues.

If he could defend SGs I might bump him up a little.

Just my preference... his ADP has him pretty firmly in low 3rd / high 4th round territory. So that is a better representation of the aggregate opinion.

Oladipo was the perfect pick for 6theluckyone. I may have thought hard about trading up for George if I knew Oladipo would fall that far. I probably need the extra threes and rebounds George provides, but Oladipo, like George, brings a defense/efficient high usage combo that is generally not found outside the first round with respect to guards.

Be that as it may, I think he’s a great fit with Steph.

Kudos to bds and robusk for the mid-draft sentiments.

Yeah, I was glad to have Big Ben fall my way. He used to go in the first round pretty regularly until D. Jordan best seasons came along, and now that Gobert seems to be a fixture there as well, Wallace and Mutombo slide much further than they used to.

I agree Payton arguably was a reach, but it's not because he doesn't shoot 3s. In his best season, he takes 31% of shots from the perimeter. The only real knock against him is that his efficiency is scarcely tolerable for someone at his usage level. Like with Garnett, Billups, and a couple guys in particular who are still on the board, he shoots you into some games and out of others. I'm pretty sure I've never drafted him before in this league, but I was drawn to his low number of mistakes and wanted to ensure at least one strong D rating in my starting backcourt.

This is not how the sim works, but I just couldn’t help myself. 3 goats. Jordan, Duncan, Russell.

I guess if you consider that his best season. I always considered the 94-95 season a better option but the threes are not great. I don't want anyone who can shoot me out of a game.

I hear you. His 94-95 season doesn't come with a high enough ast % to make him my straightforward top playmaker. That version of Payton is similar to Penny's and Mookie's best seasons in that they come with a lot of pluses (including strong D and low mistakes) but you pretty much have to have another starter with at least 20 ast%.

I used to be a Payton guy, but Terrell Brandon shoots 88.7% from the line, comes with 81 D, and has higher passing and usage with a lower TO%. If neither is that efficient, I prefer the guy who turns the ball over less. Two seasons ago I had Kyrie back him up, and it worked out pretty well, as a balance of defense and offense.

So pennsylvania has drafted 5 players around 14k minutes and has..................... only ~100 threes?

Isn't it the same team he drafts every year?

I dunno. I don’t think I have ever played in a league with him before. Does it work??
9/3/2019 5:07 PM
Not every year - although more so recently, only because everyone sees Tiny Archibald.
If your fair, you'd agree that I had some success with
Parish/Bellamy
Grant
Rodman
Green/Rush
Tiny

The Real problem I find myself in is that every time my draft position comes up - all the good players are taken.

PS If I ever get the #1 draft pick, I can assure you that I won't pick Tiny Archibald #1 - maybe #2.

Why do you hate winning?

Penn likes having fun. He feels that the right team with Tiny can win, and by damn he's not done trying to find it. I admire his persistence
