take the cancel culture debate to the politics forum please, being denied entry to the extremely exclusive hall of fame is not a threat to freedom by any sane definition
It's sad when baseball is not just about baseball anymore. It's become about politics. And I wouldn't say that the HOF is extremely exclusive. Schilling not getting in is not a threat to freedom, but people that use politics to shun people and cancel them is a threat to freedom. It's bad enough in the everyday world, but so much of the sports world is getting shaped by political viewpoints. I remember when it was just a game that we could sit back and enjoy and forget about life for a while...

They will never take a stance on PED’s because they allowed it, encouraged it, and then turned a blind eye to it when it benefited them and was making them $$$.

I don’t want to get into the issue of cancel culture here but on the case of curt schilling it is not about politics per se but about vitriol and hatred laced comments that deviate away from pure political stances
and a hall of fame voting committee has every right to be alienated by anti social sometimes bizarre and always angry ranting that reflects very poorly on an institution that has grown into an inclusive one.
He has a bad brain.

Cancel culture LMAO. Rightwing snowflakes whining away is more accurate.

Like in 2021 minority viewpoints are so much more attacked (shamed canceled, whatever) in the Good 'ol USA than they were in say the McCarthy Era, or the mid 1800's. Speaking out loud too much minority viewpoints USED to get you hung, etc.

Now you get to whine about being removed from Twitter........ or not voted in to something.
LOL.
This is my last contribution to this thread. Your comment is case and point. You already have an opinion of what you perceive my politics to be and are making fun of or mocking them. Shame or belittle that which you don't agree with, so that they will be quiet and let the party of "unity" rule. I love discussions in which people of different schools of thought can talk about their differences with respect, but it seems you are more interested in pouring gasoline on a fire by using insults.

To others: I have no vested interest in Schilling making into the Hall. I am simply aware of things other than baseball at play here. He certainly didn't make a lot of friends with some of his interactions, and he's definitely paying the price. None of us are up for Hall of Fame consideration, but we've all done something in our past that we aren't proud of, (or at the least was greatly misunderstood or taken out of context) and hopefully you've been given the opportunity to grow and move on from it. For those that want to make a difference in the world - stop waving your political flag over people and lording over them and embrace each other's humanity for a moment. You'd be surprised at the results. I'm out. Feel free to PM me if you want a friendly discussion.

The veterans - era committee did nor vote this time because of the pandemic. The voting was rescheduled to December 21 2021.
in 2020 Marvin Miller and Ted Simmons were elected.

some people in the know think that there is a good chance that Minnie Minoso and Dick Allen will get in.
