is there an eta for league numbers?

in the 100 mil league do we need to draft stadiums?
Are other 100m leagues drafting stadiums?

There is no drafting of stadiums. The rules clearly say that you can choose any stadium that was active during your season.

Here's a thought: is it time to accept that ozo is too busy to answer questions and make rulings, and let schwarze be the final decision maker on rules interpretations?

For the HoF league we could probably take a vote on the two big questions - managers yes/no and today's inductees yes/no. I'd vote yes on both, but it would be easy to do a poll.

The variable cap league is harder. Maybe someone could do a Google Spreadsheet that you could cut and paste teams into which would work out what the team slugging was. But you'd still have to work out what we mean by team slugging. I assume you want weighted mean of slg of position players, but what should it be weighted by? Definitely not actual PA/AB - which I *think* is what the 'actual stats' line in Team Center uses. But should it be by PA162, or AB162, or something else? Or am I wrong to even think it is weighted mean? A rule judgement on these, whether from ozo or schwarze, would be useful.

I vote yes to both HOF options also.

If we had the league set up, we could use that to enter and “test” teams for actual 162 game slugging. It isn’t the most elegant method, but would work I think.

the SLG should be what it says in the team stats window when you enter the team
9/8/2021 5:07 PM
But now it says two things - actual and projected. And neither of them I think is quite right. Projected is well off; the projected can be higher than any individual. But I think the actual is just adding up the actual ABs and bases and dividing - so it undercounts 2020 players, 19th century players etc. It might be easiest to just use the actual line rather than futzing around though, even if it isn't maximally elegant.

I mean after you enter the team, like when you click the link on someone else's team on the standings page

that one I believe accurately projects the fewer than 162 game season players out to 162 games and does the math correctly

Oh I hadn't realised it gets it right. That makes life much easier. And it will be easier to check retrospectively.

As jbohrman says, It is a bit of a pain that some people will enter teams then find out straightaway they don't work, but it might be easier than any alternative.

I would really like to see the 70m theme get raised to 6 usable players. It still would not make it "easy", but less of a headache.
9/8/2021 7:53 PM
I actually feel like the 80M theme is clear--it says all players (over 300K) that you draft must be in the HOF. It doesn't say "having been voted in as players" and it doesn't say "as of August 2021". Can we just all agree that the managers/executive HOF guys are usable and that Jeter/L Walker/T SImmons are good to go also? I'd imagine we could get admin to actually put Jeter/Walker/SImmons in there, now that it's official.

Unrelatedly, I love the 70M theme as it is. It wasn't easy, I have a team I like, I'm not convinced it's remotely optimal, but I'll probably just go all Hoosiers and declare that my team is on the floor (field). Too hard to make changes.

Need an answer well before the deadline because I'm not drafting my teams until I know the rules. But I don't think rules should be left up to a vote of the players. We need an arbiter one way or another.
No don't change any clear rules after people worked on their teams. I've dropped out of themes for that.

1) I vote YES to HOF inductees Jeter, Simmons and Walker. YES to managers and announcers. No to HOF commissioners.
2) Keep the limit at 5 players in the 70M theme because my team is finished. It's a good challenge. My team will suck. Someone with research time and skill is going to strike gold and get like 200+ wins.

I'm done with the offense portion of the 70mil cap. As much work as that took, I'd hate to waste it, so I'm in favor of leaving the theme as is.
