Round one finished way ahead of time.

Time slots are posted for round two. As always, feel free to go early as long as no one is skipped in front of you.

The name for the timeslot is the team being screwed, not the team doing the screwing.

As an aside, when I had the first pick I was choosing between three teams that I thought were of equal value. I took the 34 Yankees. Neither of my other two choices were picked at all in the first round. Maybe they'll be given as screw picks in rounds two or three.

Now working on sending out screw assignments for America League.

Everyone should now have their second round screw assignment.

OK, Beernoser. It is my role to kick off Round 2 by presenting you with your first screw team. This is a serious task, and I have attempted to weigh the best approach to making this difficult for you. The rules I followed in narrowing down teams to pair with your '34 Yankees were:

1. Minimize pitching help of any kind.
2. Avoid teams with lots of cheap players
3. Hamper your final roster options in a way that forces bad compromises.

So your Yankees have a handful of solid outfielders, a few useful infielders, a very nice catcher, a couple expensive pieces you may or may not ultimately be able to use in Gehrig and Lefty Gomez, and no really cheap players.

That meant I wanted to give you a team that also had no cheap players, because you'll have to roster 6 of them. I didn't mind if they had useful outfielders or a decent catcher, because that didn't add much, and I also was darn sure not giving you any pitchers you'll want taking the mound.

So I present to you ... the 1934 St. Louis Browns.

To start, the Browns only have 19 players available to you, and you have to use 6 of them. Only one of them is under $1 million. You get 8 pitchers, none with a WHIP under 1.47 or an ERA under 4. Three of the infield positions have no backups, and two of them are pretty bad hitters. There are a couple useful bats, but perhaps one will get daggered later on and force your hand in other ways.

I'm shuddering now because I've seen all the other terrible teams and know one is coming to me, and that won't be pleasant. But at least I won't get these awful Browns. Enjoy!

I can't be here around the clock, but I will try to send sitemail notices when it's your turn if you can pick early.

Why isnt there a schedule showing who is *gifting* who.?
When I *gift* the owner I am scheduled to *gift*, I should be able to sitemail the next *gifter*, but I have no way of knowing who it is.

I guess you could sitemail all owners in that division other than the one who is being screwed. One of them will be the gifter.

I am sitemailing each next owner as they come up though I can't always be here.

I can put out a list each round if wanted.

We've always kept it as a surprise but either way is okay.

It's my job to give ooooohdoggie his second round team and it turns out it's one of my favorite teams.

I actually have the team Yearbook from the 1953 season which cost 50 cents which seems pretty expensive since my NY Mets yearbook from 11 years later was also just 50 cents. So I pulled out my 1953 Yearbook and here's some info on the team you get.

In 1952 Bobby Shantz was AL MVP. You get his little brother who has a very good chance of making your final roster.

In 1949 Marion Ficano won 21 games for Nashua of the New England League and Pueblo of the Western League.

Maybe my all-time favorite player, he was Pete Rose before Pete Rose. Elmer Valo has been on this team since 1939. Nicknamed "Mr Hustle" he had a great on base percentage before anyone knew what that was.

A solid middle of the order outfielder throughout his career, Gus Zernial led the team in RBI's in 1954.

I hope that helps you get to know your new team managed by the great infielder Jimmy Dy,kes.

Step up to greet the last season of the American league team based in Philadelphia, the 1954 Philadelphia A's. You get a full 25 man roster to choose from and at $ 51 million, there are some real bargains.

I’m here and doing the research. Pick in an hour or so.

Farley selected the 1924 Pittsburgh Pirates. Looking over the Pirates you find a lot of good $5 mil+ type players to choose from.

My goal was to find a team that doesn’t have a lot of <$500k players and force farley to take more expensive & lesser players to fit the cap.

I’m gifting Farley the 1924 St.Louis Cards with a $19 million Hornsby. Good luck getting him to fit into the salary cap & he’d be a prime dagger candidate anyway.

The rest of the regulars are meh & the pitching isnt better than the Pirates starters.
